I used to avoid wind chimes because they had a pagan origin............Now I avoid wind chimes because they are an irritating nuisance once the novelty has wirn off. A past neighbour had one once....drove me nuts going tinkle tinke all day

Evil Wind Chimes
by Sea Breeze ini remember going door to door in the late 60's with my mother as a 5 or 6 year old.
one time she caught me looking at the wind chimes on a porch.
she told me they had pagan origins, were evil, and were somehow connected to demons.

How Fear is Weaponized
by Sea Breeze infear is used by politicians, marketeers, social scientists, military psy-ops tacticians and just about anyone who wants to manipulate or destabilize another.
to illustrate, look at this 1964 political ad by pres.
johnson against barry goldwater:.

The older you get in life, the closer you are to dying. Even old dubs now recognize that . The concept of living forever without experiencing death has now disappeared, except for the young.
What happens at death, where do we go? Nobody knows . Shakespeare called it the "undiscovered country" ((Hamlet).. 400 years later we know no more.
In my later years now, is dearh to be feared? No... I don't want to linger into a lonely, painful miserable old age. Lets go while life is still enjoyable.
Yes , we myst try to enjoy every day that God gives us , before:
" The silver cord is removed and the golden bowl is crushed.................then the dust returns to the earth, just as it happened to be" . Ecclesiastes 12.

by Thetruthhurts inwhat were some of yours?
the big one in our hall was no frontal hugs!
these were generally thought of as inappropriate, only side hugs should be given between sisters and brothers.

wow what could go wrong?
it was 1993 well one pioneer wanted to out do every one so he turned up in drag as a ballerina in full bad make up...some had costumes with guns swords knives...i mean a cowboy does not have a watchtower in his holster!

I guess fancy dress is something that is “just not done” among dubs.... I vaguely recall a C/o recounting an experience of one where things got out of hand with “elders dressed up as women!” ( shudder) . That does sound gross....
Nb. I felt like I was in fancy dress on a Sunday, wearing a white shirt and suit...
re Murder Mystery evenings, an elder of my acquaintance and his wife used to go to these at a local hotel , I guess it had food as well. They enjoyed it, and nothing was said to him.

How do you feel about the JWS religion after being out more than 10, 20, 30 years ?
by Finkelstein inmyself being a born in and completely out for more than 30 years i see more of the damage of what this religious cult causes people .. part of myself leaving had to do with the psychological harm it was causing people back in the 1970's, one guy my age at the time hung himself out anxiety and depression.. the numerous suicides that have occurred in numbers is shocking to say the least.. then there is the many families breaking up.. marriages breaking apart because one member decides to leave the jws.. the deaths of members or their children from refusing a blood transfusion.. this hit me personally when my mother refused a bt when she was ill in the hospital and died.. over the years and observing all of these things reminds me how glad and fortunate i left when i did but i do find it responsible to others to expose this religious cult to what can happen to people who get involved with it and that's what i've been doing on this forum and elsewhere.

Around 20 years now since I woke up. At that time I was concerned about time passing by, I just could not accept the world entering the 21st Century and still no end! ... There were doctrines too that did not seem right. At the time I was angry , then there came the UNO scandal that really teed me off...
No I am more relaxed about it. I wonder at those who have kept their fath ...fath in promises and predictions constantly broken, but I guess it is up to them...
Unlike some on this thread , the first thing I did was work towards resignation from the B of E... I could not be a hypocrite.

What happens to bethel members who get sick?

I can't argue with those who have first hand inside experience of Bethel life.... but I did see a video discussion with a team of Bethel doctors who spoke of their care for the 'family' . I think it was one of the early monthly broadcasts , when I was obliged to sit through them.
In Britain, I know that an old c/o and d/o , John Blaney was brought into Bethel when he got old. As he deteriorated he was nursed until he died. I used to know a natural health practitioner by name of Nigel Vukovich (sp?) Who said he went down to London Bethel one or two days a week to give treatment. ...any other Brits recall him?

Is paedophilia covered up in the UK?
by The Fall Guy injimmy saville not being exposed until after he died.
(too well connected with royalty & establishment figures?).
the charities comission "enquiry" into the abuse by jw's resulted in nothing more than a telling-off for the "charity".. the independent inquiry into child sexual abuse (https://www.iicsa.org.uk) has so far been a damp squib.. the muslim paedophile gangs in england were tacitly approved of by police & social services.

Hmmmm. I have not watched the video, but a guick google showed the broadcaster , ITNJ... that's not ITN the reputable news channel but somebody else who has attracted a lot of criticism even being called a fraud and a scam.
As for Paedophilia in the UK,? I dont have inside knowledge but I guess no where worse than anywhere else . The examples you gave are true enough but one trusts that authorities have learned from past mistakes . It is nine years since Saville died and his crimes became known . We have seen plenty of prosecutions of people from all walks of life since then

In 1942 they predicted that the defunct Leage of Nations would be reformed . This in accord with Rev 17 v 8. In 1945 the United Nations .Org was formed.
This is how the WT puts it. In fact, I believe that plans for a UN were already known about , once the War had been won

I would like to thank Petra for posting up corroboration, under Atlants’ Name . Before then I was thinking, “ Hmm it looks genuine but I cannot believe it” Having it confirmed from two sources is convincing to me.
I am shocked. This was the nineties, not in the crazy past of JFR days. To think that this organisation ,that we viewed as a beacon of truth and honesty , would actually instruct a congregation to harbour a serial killer is appalling.!

Disfellowshipped JW's Still Have "Normal Family Relations"
by Sea Breeze in"when someone is disfellowshipped from the religion, normal family relations continue, with the exception of spiritual fellowship.”a watchtower lawyer clears up this common misunderstanding:.

Crazyguy...... That is shocking. All I can say is that it is not the way that it is intended to happen . My father never took the WT faith. We certainly did not treat him as an outsider, my Mother did her best to accommodate his wishes ,
That quote from the old Wt is horrible . It shows a cold cynical attitude to marriage ,I know it was from 1952 but nevertheless it is wrong. It reduces the marital relationships to almost that of a whore and customer , paying for services rendered .
