Miserable week ahead for witness kids in England-The Coronation

i feel sorry for witness kids this week.

schools going crazy with the coronation in england.

witness won’t be allowed to participate in a harmless tradition that whatever you think of the monarchy will be a lot of fun..

I agree with the first poster. It is one thing for adults to not want to know about this but younger kids at school are going to feel it . I have only seen on the more local tv programs the kids all getting into it , and of course on Sunday or Monday there could well be a street party with flags , and lots of goodies.

The kids are going to feel well left out . When the old Queen was crowned I had just started school and we all lined up to get a Coronation Mug and replica anointing spoon. My Mum didn’t object back then but I guess JW parents wouldn’t allow that now.

All the Old JW Acquaintances Passing Away

yesterday, my dad told me an older sister passed away.

she wasn't too old (in her 60s), but i knew her 30 years ago and haven't seen her in 15 years; the main reason being that i faded 10 years ago.. yesterday, i seriously considered attending the funeral and catch-up with old jws i used to know.

after thinking it over, i decided against it.

That is so typical, just chasing figures and wanting to be on the right side of the C/O. My wife gets the same . She is also unfit to go door to door, do they care? Not at all. She does get a phone call but only when they want a report.

Hearts of stone, the lot of them.

It is based on Habakkuk 2 , we discussed this in depth around 1973/1974. At that time it was exciting, and relevant,as we expected the end in a year or two . Today though, how can they keep faith in failed predictions that are pushing 50 years overdue? I don’t know. I realised as we approached the turn of the century that something was seriously wrong with the timeframe.

The chorus goes :

”Father we long to see, paradise come to be

Give us the patience to wait “

Isn't that a pathetic prayer for the ability to suppress one’s natural unease and just keep plodding on holding a faith in something that is way way overdue?

I was reminded of the silly sheep in Orwell’s “Animal Farm” . No matter bad conditions got they just bleated repeatedly and unthinkingly “ 4 legs good 2 legs bad” over and over again.

28 – “our coming to know "the truth‟ - the entire body of christian teachings that has become part of the bible - and adhering to it are essential for our salvation”.this is the same position of the roman catholic church.

one of the pope’s titles is the vicar of christ.

No...That quote was saying nothing of the kind . The article discussed the letters of John . And the article meant that we need all the Christian teaching of the Bible.

Now I do know that they say that we should follow all that they have written to please God , but they do not say that their writings are part of the Bible.

Charles the Third and the Two-Headed Beast

i was reading an article about the pomp and circumstance around the first coronation in nearly a century.. made me think of the revelation book (the red one, not the bible) and the picture of the two headed beast with a sword and if i have some time today i will see if i can’t find it and age it a bit, it seems the sword is a bit dull and the two heads are now both octogenarians with severe dementia, kind of funny to see that instead of “swift judgment” we’ve come to internal decay.. what do you canadians, english, scots, irish and australians think about your new leadership?.

Amazing case… to think that he could rape her while his wife was in the front room ! That’s crazy..

What the hell was he doing still on the B of E when suffering noticeable depression and flirting with women ? . I think the Supreme Court got it wrong. They don’t appreciate the regard that elders are held in and in fact, you are never off duty .

As a young man , I was a believer and a big fan of rock music. I just reasoned that the GB had their knickers in a twist , over that. I said tha Holy Spiirit might direct the doctrines but I could see that it was the men who gave such advice.

I also knew that if ever my parents did such things to me , I would leave home…Thankfully they never did.

Actually , thinking back, around where I was we all listened to such counsel but did nothing about it. Most of the lads still enjoyed music and went to concerts and older ones let slip what films they enjoyed, stuff that I considered too strong to watch.
