  diaz case, filed on 10/21/2020 by zalkin law firm - two plaintiffs abused (here and hereinafter - allegedly) by two ministerial servants in 1970s.. iglesias case, filed on 10/19/2020 by eisenberg & baum, llp against various nyc and wt entities - abused by an "elder john doe" and "[travelling] overseer john" in 1970s and 1980s.. aldridge case, filed 10/06/2020 by zalkin law firm - abused by a congregation elder in 1970s.. older cases:.

  tarry case (no 1 and no 2), filed on 09/17/2019 and 07/23/2020 by parker waichman llp - abused by a publisher in 1984. very weak case.

  a direct confirmation that judge joseph rutherford, 2nd president of the watchtower organization, had a weak spot for good whisky, can be found in the following hilarious watch tower article.. the u.s. congress had passed the spirit prohibition law, and the judge was absolutely furious that these "servants of satan" tried to take his booze away.. the watch tower, which according to fred franz had jehovah as editor during these days, directly stated that christians could not "participate in" such a prohibition.

  in other words, they had to smuggle and drink booze to be loyal to god.

  the jws are unfortunately a much more boring sect these days.. the watchtower, november 1, 1924prohibition.

  I agree with Disillusioned JW ... I lost count of the number of times he called intoxicating liquor “ evil “

  The article does not promote drinking or violating prohibition laws . He is saying that such laws do not come from God , which I gather some were saying at the time. It is a diatribe against the Government. This was before they fathomed out that they were the “superior authorities “ to be obeyed.

  It's VERY DIFFICULT for some JWs to accept the Truth-------But for other not so much------WHY?

  what is it about some jws that they can't see the flip-flops of the wt's changing doctrine?.

  some of the flip-flops involved the death of many of it's members, and it was not even biblical based.

  yet for some reason they can't seem to grasp the significance of the matter.

  You speak of 15 years ? That’s nothing . I have spoken to people who grumbled that “they told us Armageddon was at hand in 1942” when the bombs were falling. When I Was a kid The A bomb was sure to start something that would lead to Armageddon. There is always something.

  Given what you say about your mother, I am not sure that it would provide the barrier that you seek.

  Grandparents have a stake in grandchildren, that is a fact of life not only JWs. I have known of Witnesses with d/f’d adult children who still cared for the little ones one day a week.....with the parents permission of course, just taking the kid at the door.

  Frankly I think your fears of kidnap are unfounded. The WTS would never embrace such a policy. Even if they wanted to, their lawyers would not let them.

  I understand you don’t want your daughter indoctrinated with their beliefs. I guess you will just have to be firm with your mother , telling her to never say it in your daughters presence. A threat of not being able to see her granddaughter at all might do the trick.

  Looking to learn

  sorry if i shouldn't be posting this, i am not jw however i have had past experiences with jw's and was learning a lot about the religion, in hopes to convert one day.

  it all ended suddenly and i guess i feel guilty for not learning more, i would get scared at the thought of bible studies and discussions in case it brought back memories.

  i was looking for any advice on the best ways i can find out more please.

  I would agree with Smiddy, above. Those of us who have had our lives impacted adversely by that movement know that it is one to stay away from.

  However, there is a wealth of information on the net, notably their own site ,JW.org and I would recommend JWFacts.com for an informed counter view

  If medical matters interest you then study the website ajwrb.com and you will know more about the blood issue than most Witnesses do.

  this is a confidential letter for all full time servants like cos, regular pioneers, bethel and branch workers so please don't tell anyone about this.. reminder 20,000 jws have died of covid and 99% of those who died or were hospitalized in the united states branch territory were not vaccinated, so whose fault is that???.

  my question, how did they get the information that all these 20,000 jws were not vaccinated?.

  hint; if you want to continue to share in spiritual privileges--------------------get vaccinated.

  Thankfully Lloyd read the letter though at the start of his video so it does not need 50 minutes of time.

  They are saying to full time Bethelites an C/Os that they strongly recommend vaccination and in some lands this may be a requirement of the State to be able to meet and do things ,either now or in the future.

  OK.. as a vaccinated Brit , I see no objection to that. Such people are paid and supported by Watchtower so they have some reason to tell them .

  It is common sense anyway.

  in one form or another i've been a member of this site for almost 10 years.

  in the past this was a great place for debate, news and support for ex jws.

  i logged on several times a day and posted several times a week.

  Purr purr is right in his opening post. The culture of this board has changed tremendously over the years.I also dislike the extent of political subjects, especially since much of it is Right Wing American which is a total turn-off to a Brit like me.

  In the good old days this board was........

  We could go on about how we liked it better back then, but what is the point of that ?

  It is what it is. We must accept it or leave. I find there are still times when I read things about the WTS that I never knew . It is still a valuable source of information. I learn what they are up to, what they are saying and I can still blow off steam and talk to people of the same mind as me. When you live in a partial dub household, that opportunity is priceless.

  If there is a better place I would like to find it . I find Reddit to be too superficial and lacking depth . I don’t use Social Media.

  So , I’m sorry if you go Purrpurr , I will continue to ignore the threads I don’t like and search for the good stuff on here.
