Anointed Remnant
Christ’s Invisible Presence
i was trying to think of some common jw words and phrases i don't think are in the bible .. new world order new system spiritual israel governing body channel of communication organization reporting time pioneer aux pioneer circuit overseer kingdom hall circuit assembly district convention....,maybe you can think of something to add if you are inclined..
Anointed Remnant
Christ’s Invisible Presence
this afternoon i drove by an old hall i attended ( barrington illinois) and noticed that it had been sold, it is now an adventist .
church !
now here is my drive-home thinking.. back in the 80's when i attended i was newly married, and had a young child.
They used to criticise the Catholic Church for doing that.. :-
WT 99 3/15 p 24 “ Building on Pagan Foundations “
“The Pantheon was originally a pagan temple, a “place for all gods,” which is the meaning of the original Greek word. Today, it is still considered a Roman Catholic church. How was such a surprising transformation possible?"…………………….
It ought to be obvious, however, that changing the dedication of a temple or the name of a celebration is not sufficient to transform the ‘worship of devils into the service of the true God.’ “What agreement does God’s temple have with idols?” asked the apostle Paul. “‘Get out from among them, and separate yourselves,’ says Jehovah, ‘and quit touching the unclean thing’; ‘and I will take you in.’ ‘And I shall be a father to you, and you will be sons and daughters to me,’ says Jehovah the Almighty.”
……
Hypocrites !
the jws i know (which admittedly are more liberal than most) are suddenly into prepping to one degree or another.
some have simply assembled "go bags" with basic common sense supplies in case they need to bug out in the event of a natural disaster and others seem to be seriously into it, almost to the degree to which mormons are.
backup generators and a year's supply of food and water).
Go-bags are a must for diligent dubs and that comes from on high... However they are only intended for a natural disaster not the end of the system. Depending on where you live , that is not a bad idea these days, seeing the news of American weather.
have the rank and file been told not to "gossip", or "question" about mr morris yet?
i am mindful of how questioning decisions was discouraged and being told to keep things confidential.
( maybe too soon, but do share if a special needs part comes up) you would think that common sense would tell them they cause the questions when they don't share reasons.
“Why not just wait for undeniable facts to surface as to why he is no longer a GB member ? instead of postulating all of these scenarios ?l
I agree with Smiddy here. I suppose it is fun but we all know that we don’t know. That’s it.
As for the real dubs, only those that actually read the news column on the site will have seen it . Actually they are trained not to ask questions when they hear announcements of deletion or d/f.. It is a bit like 1984 . When a man is struck off, his name is removed and nobody mentions him and it is as if he had never existed.
study article 22 is headed.
"keep traveling on the "way of holiness".
this article states that since 1919, having left babylon the great in that year, jws today are traveling on 'the way of holiness" (a figurative highway) as it takes them through the spiritual paradise and leads them through to future kingdom blessings.. they say that 'preparatory work' of that highway began centuries earlier.
“ 2006, 2012: The seriousness of viewing abhorrent forms of pornography is clearly emphasized”
I think they mean to say that then viewing kiddie or gay porn was made a d/f offence. Back in the day such things were not easily available but the net changed that .It would always have been reprehensible and considered a sin but now they called it pornea and dealt with it severely.
this has been announced on the jw's official website, in the "jw news" section.
this is not a joke.
anthony moron da turd is out as a gluttonous body member!
Announcement
On Wednesday, February 22, 2023, it was announced at World Headquarters that Brother Anthony Morris III is no longer serving as a member of the Governing Body of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
……..
Oh boy, that sounds something like a congregation announcement when an elder has been deleted. There are no words of thanks for years of service, nothing to soften the blow. I agree that calling him Brother suggests he was not d/f’d and I think apostasy is unlikely, knowing him .
No doubt we will hear plenty of rumours but to be honest, we may never know why.
I am not sorry to see him gone.
another example of jehovah protects his people except when he doesn't.

I must agree with Peaceful Pete here. My attitude was not intended to be supportive of WTS , just clarifying things. While they do not teach daily divine protection they do love to give accounts from the Bible and modern “experiences” that suggest Godly care. It is no wonder that people get the wrong idea.
i am now in my early 60’s.
i was baptized in 1980. i served as a ministerial servant and an elder.
i gave my all for many years but about eight years ago i started to question many things.
Your story sounds a lot like mine except that I gave even more years to the treadmill. With me the elders have largely left me alone, with a few well meaning exceptions. I even felt a bit ignored although now it is for the best .
It is easy to look back in regret but I have tried to enjoy the rest of this life .. Best wishes to you.
has the auxiliary class or second school been done away with?.
when i grew up in my congregation we even had three schools, so three bible readings and three lots of student assignments.. after covid it seems everything is easier, less assignments now some only seem to get one or two per year.. being an elder is much easier these days, everything is done for you.
meetings are full of videos and q&as need no preparation you could take a watchtower or cong book study with zero preparation and most midweek meetings have q&as that requires no preparation .
The Ministry School has been abolished entirely so the question does not arise. These field ministry presentations that they do these days are different. I have never seen any suggestion that they divide the meetings
why can jw's give blood samples for testing in a medical setting?
i was with someone once (non jw related) who was getting multiple tests done and they must have taken a good pint all together in separate vials.
how do jw's square this with their blood policies?
All they know or care about is that the Governing Body say that is ok . That is all they need.
