Should a person die for their religious BELIEFS?
by Fisherman inin ancient israel many of the prophets were killed as a result of their religious assignments —from god.
even soldiers were sent out to fight against idolatrous “uncircumcised” and logically some died for example jonathan, the son of king saul.
these soldiers were said to be fighting the wars of jehovah and there was no miraculous salvation for everybody all of the time.

Watching the show
by Teddnzo ini’m new to apostate stuff but have gone deep down a few rabbit holes of late so want to see both sides to everything .
im going to a congregation but am viewed as a bit of a black sheep because i question lots of things but not enough to cause too much trouble.. i’m intrigued watching the show.
in my heart i’m pretty sure the governing body are fakes and charlatans.. the entire thing is a big con game.

Welcome Ted... 2 simple questions that did it for me once I started to really think.
1) They stick to the key belief that the last days began in 1914 , Christ’s heavenly “presence”. Jesus said all in one generation. That was 109 years ago ! ... Come on, there is something wrong there.. Nb I don’t buy their definition of a generation either, get them to explain it to you.
2) They maintain that only baptised practicing JWs will survive Armageddon.... When you think about it, that is religious genocide ! Did Jesus teach that? The God I know would never do that .

If they abandoned The midweek meeting, how would they push the flock to grow out in service?

I well remember the Service Chart at the front of theHall. It was a whopper! at least 6ft tall for all to see. Notice that we had quotas rather than goals to achieve. If you failed to report 10 hours in a month, there was something wrong. We also had quotas for placements so you were expected to leave 10 magazines with people, for money , as well. .. Happy days ? I think not.
We always moaned about Convention food . But we moaned even more when they took it away.... . Mind you if you volunteered in food service, that was good fun !

Only baptised JWs will make it?
by ExBethelitenowPIMA ini think it was a john cedars video or someone else’s where the point was brought up that only baptised jws will be saved?
then one talk about kids of baptised jws hope they will make it but even them don’t know.
most jws probably think that some good people who are not baptised may make it through, but this is not official teaching?.

Nicolaou ‘s quotes above are excellent. Regarding the specific of baptism, i thought this worked:
” Young People Ask.. Should I Get Baptised?
Yet, God’s will is that “all sorts of men should be saved.” (1 Timothy 2:4) He wants you to escape the end of this system of things and live forever in Paradise on earth! (Revelation 21:3, 4) But how can you identify yourself as one obeying the good news? It is not enough simply to believe the Bible truths you have been taught, nor is it enough simply to tag along with your parents to Christian meetings. (Compare James 2:19.) Those desiring salvation must dedicate themselves to God and do his will. ………………
Would you trust a friend who wanted to keep your friendship secret? Wisely, then, God requires all to ‘make public declaration for salvation.’ (Romans 10:10) This begins at baptism. ”

JWs unrecognisable compared to my grandfathers time
by ExBethelitenowPIMA inmy grandfather who has been dead for 37 years would not recognise the borganisation today.
he would turn in his grave if he knew the end didn’t come by 2023.. back in the 1970s he really believed in the 75 thing.
he was so disappointed and almost blamed everyone else why the end didn’t come.

I would add to Journeyman’s list the withdrawal of the Tuesday Group Book Study.
That is still greatly missed by the oldies I know, the deeper study and a sociable cuppa afterwards did a lot to bond them together. Nowadays they complain they hardly know each other.
Who does “Family Study”?

How does God communicate with Jehovah's Witnesses?
by Vanderhoven7 ingilles gray writes:.
the short answer is, god communicates with jehovah’s witnesses very poorly indeed.. jehovah’s witnesses are the first to affirm that god doesn’t directly communicate with them at all.. however, this fact doesn’t stop them from making the baseless assertion that god communicates to them through reading the bible, through holy spirit and through their leaders (known as the governing body, or the faithful and discreet slave).. here is a claim made by one of the first leaders of the watchtower organisation:-.
communication through reading the bible.

I guess it is like an elders meeting. Something is considered, debated and then agreed based on the elder’s judgment at the time. If later, an elder has to justify that decision to another brother he will say , “ We prayed for Gods guidance and the Spirit led us to agree on it “
The GB always claim that their decisions are from God ….. until they change it a few years later ! Then the new understanding is from God… 🤔

That statue of Marsyas is a story from ancient mythology
“Apollo, of course, defeated Marsyas. He then exacted a savage punishment, exemplifying the jealous and petty nature of the Greek gods: he tied Marsyas to a tree and flayed him alive. It was said that Marsyas’ fellow woodland creatures wept a literal river for him”
It is not a real event and the story of having him tied to a tree is nothing like a death by impalement / crucifixion.

To Raymond Frantz
I owe you an apology. I did not realise that the video was your own and I am very sorry for my rudeness.
I do still hold that the Witnesses today view the U N as just one part of the the political system and ,as is evident, they are happy to accept its charitable works. The days of denouncing it as “the disgusting thing standing where it ought not” are long gone.
Best wishes.

I did not have the patience to watch all of this guy’s video and put up with his blathering.
The beginning though was about in the present day , a Witness family in war torn Africa seeks refuge in a UNHCR refugee camp. Later , no doubt they thank Jehovah, as they always do.
so what is wrong? The dubs are told that all politics are in the hand of Satan so whether the camp is provided by the the UN, their government or another makes no difference. They accept help gladly , thinking of Romans 13 that governments are in place as God’s minister.....
If I have missed a point, please say so.
