Actually That is WT policy. But what is Gods direction? Normally understood to be used if a complete ban on worship is imposed. This was a recommendation not a command.

I believe people do want they really wanted to do. He likely had a girlfriend and wanted rid of her. She probably wanted an excuse to disobey the controlling husband. Ce la Vie ....

Nb I know Witnesses in good standing who refused vaccination. It is a personal medical choice .

Hello Sue. Judicial Committees are a bit of a lottery. I sat on load’s during my elder days and it all depends who you get and how the conversation goes when they get in the closed room. One positive or negative comment can swing the decision. If they are looking to d/f you they might say :

“ She did not confess straightaway, they hid their sin from the congregation and despite your claims of repentance now he has left , if you were truly repentant you would have come forward straightaway “

I know that sounds hard but that is how they are trained to think.

"the shepherd the flock of god elders’ manual had instruction to take notes, sign and file them in judicial cases where the accused threatens suicide.

this instruction was removed in 2020. pic 1 is 2019 version, pic 2 is from a 2020 edition.

it remains the same in 2023.

I have never seen this as a way to stave off or avoid d/f and carry on sinning. If you can convincingly claim suicide as the outcome.... then the JC is delayed but it will not be stopped.

I relate to this man’s comment that as a new elder he trusted the older ones.. I would have done the same at that stage. Four paedo’s in one cong ? That is a hotbed…

I found this a recent “ Shepherding” book about disclosure of such people in a cong.

” “The Service Department will direct the elders to inform family heads of minors within the congregation of the need to monitor their children’s interaction with the individual. The elders would take this step only if directed to do so by the Service Department. The coordinator of the body of elders should ensure that newly appointed elders and elders who move into the congregation are made aware of the Service Department’s direction regarding such individuals.”

Fisherman’s post above conveys exactly the way that BOE’s are taught. They are the reps of “The Society “ company men first and foremost.

When I was in the throes of resigning my position, a friend of mine on the body was taking flack because he allowed a situation in his family that did not agree with Society recommendations. This was his right as family head , in my view. He endured removal because of it. The Body used my absence to do it unappposed .

If the Society say ‘ jump’ you must simply say “how high”?

Blood Card Check

i remember many years ago that apparently there was an annual event where witnesses' blood cards (or whatever they're called) were checked by some visiting wt dignitary.

that the blood cards were current, and that the r&f were carrying them.. given the situation in some countries that kingdom halls can't legally keep data about people who have been visited, is the practice of checking and enforcing the carrying of blood cards similarly illegal in some places?.

are there any places where it is illegal for the hlc to set up camp near the hospital bed of a sick jw?.

I do have a memory that group leaders were once told to ask the members to make sure their blood cards were complete. Also I believe that they were asked to give a photo copy of it to the congregation to be kept by the Secretary. However, checking the “ Shepherd the Flock” book , it says nothing like that now. Data protection laws finished that off , I expect. The elders never bothered to ask anyway.

Incidentally, the book also says that HLC have to get the patient’s consent before getting involved or talking to doctors.
