An age old mystery has been solved,
by embeth2525 inwhen i was a teenager, my father built a wall in the hallway of our house so that he would not have to have anything to to with me.
i had to do dishes in the bathroom sink and cook on a hotplate.
i never knew why he did this.

. That wasn't the only "weird" thing my Father did. He did a lot of very strange things. I am still messed up and will probably always be messed up. My Mother died when I was 14. And after that the wierdness began. I never knew if he was going to be "good" Dad or "bad" Dad. I know the religion was in part to blame, he would rant and rave at me how much God hated me etc etc... and fight with his brothers over the "truth". I never understood any of it until I found this wonderful board. Thanks, you guys who answered me. Hugs Beth

When I was a teenager, my Father built a wall in the hallway of our house so that he would not have to have anything to to with me. I had to do dishes in the bathroom sink and cook on a hotplate. I never knew why he did this. He had recently gone back to the Kingdom Hall, but I had not put two and two together until now. He never explained himself, never told me why he did it, exept that he couldn't stand my "lifestyle" and that he wanted no part of me. I didn't understand it, my lifestyle consisted of going to school, coming home, and doing my homework. I wasn't allowed to go out, or have friends over. He never discussed this with me even years later, and took it with him to his grave. And I never understood it until now. Could it be that he was "shunning" me? talk about taking it to extreme measures. And I never even knew what was going on. Stupid religion. Thanks for letting me vent.

to us it looks like a little human head!

As a young kid how did you invision Armagedon?
by PinTail inas a kid i felt that jehovah would bring his big hand down from the sky and slap the hell out of the ground, and if i was under it then it would be real bad.
the fact is i found it hard to camp outside and enjoy looking at the night sky with all of its stars, fearing the big old hand was going to slap the area around me at that very moment and ruin trees shrubs the fish we had caught our tent my dads truck, and us oh man everthing else too.

We used to play a game on our Nintendo called the Legend of Zelda. In one part, there is this hand that keeps coming down to squish you, and take you to the beginning of that part of the game. When ever life gets difficult, I always pictured that hand coming down to squish me. Anyway, when you mentioned the hand, that is what I thought of. Beth

I don't understand this
