  hello all - i most likely won't post too often but want to introduce myself.

  i've read this board for a long time and feel like i know some of you!

  i was a third gen born-in (ne ohio), and half-heartedly believed until i was in middle school.

  First Born Syndrom? -

  is it just me or does it seem like a large portion of first born children leave the "truth" or find ttatt?

  its weird for me, but of all the other people out i know (only about 20 ish) they are all first borns, and usually the wife is as well.

  just looking at this from a different lens and curious if others see the same.

  I am the firstborn and we left. My husband's brother also a firstborn was the first to leave. The other siblings followed including my husband. Unfortunately I am the only one of my siblings to leave at this point. I hope the rest of them "come to their senses" and leave this CULT! I had to use that expression because that's what they told me when I left and should come back. Not gonna happen!

  They don't care about the truth. They only care what they tell you the truth is. We once had a elder hold up his bible and say if the GB tells me this bible is purple then this bible is purple. SMH! But thank you mr. Elder man. That was one of the nails in the coffin!

  Our Letter to Our Family

  our families have cut off contact with us for the last several months.

  they found out that we were celebrating holidays with our non-witness family.

  our families were our last tie to the organization, as our former friends stopped associating with us about 3 years ago.

  I've been depressed lately.

  my husband and i went to visit his family for the holidays.

  not everyone showed for the visit ,the weather was lousy, and it just generally sucked.

  now we're back to the same old routine with work and life and we're both depressed and alone.
