what sort of people come to mind when you think of the term "cult" or "cultist"?
i used to think of really cheezy b-side movies with zombie like creatures wearing all white and frothing at the mouth as they rock back and forth singing hymns to their overweight leader standing on a soap box somewhere out in the woods preparing kool aid.

i was around in 1995, barely, but i dont remember any talks or articles where the new light about the generation of 1914. did they change w/o coming right out and saying so,or was there a talk.
especially in regards to the mission statement or whatever in the awake, did they make an announcement or did they just hope no one would notice?
i just cant believe that there wasnt a mass exodus after that, my family never mentioned the change to me, i didnt even know til years later on this site.
I remember when the "clarification" of the generation fiasco was given at a district convention. I just rolled my eyes. I wasnt even born while that 1975 crap went down, and I was still flabergasted. Everyone was buzzing about how the "chariot keeps moving" or some crap after the assembly. Crazy. Its not even the same relgion now days as it was when even I was a kid. They are going down unless they dream up another prophecy.

there's a lot of new ones here and they might not be familiar with the fact that not everyone is truthful or necessarily looking out for your best interests.....is there any thing a "newbie" or for that matter any of us should keep in mind while on the internet?
To do their own research.. don't just take someone's word for it.

i didn't want to hijack the thread about videogames at bethel, so i thought i'd start another.the indiscriminate killing of policemen, the ability to kill prostitutes as well as ordinary citizens, the drug culture that is reflected in san andreas, these are all things that the young ones in my community strive for, they look up to the thug, the pimp, the hustlers who sling rock in my community.
theses are not the things i would want my child to concentrate his attention on.
the language is absolutely deplorable, and theres more to come.
I really think parents should be careful what they let their little kids have as far as video games and music goes. Some of it is so violent and perverse it is on par with 'The Bible Story Book'.
But I think adults have the right to watch and play whatever they feel like as long as it doesnt hurt anyone. I'm a huge Tarentino fan.

:The JWs just accepted it as if it were just another WT study article but Time, CNN and several newspapers all had articles on "JWs no longer expecting Armageddon in our lifetime".
It's like the biggest practical joke in the world that everyone is in on BUT the witnesses.
