i have been wondering lately.. .

for a while now i don't really hear from my witness friend and not that it bothers me much anymore, but i call her like once a month or so and she usually stays on the phone long enough to tell me how much she "misses me," for like 5 minutes (as opposed to the hours that she used to call me to talk for every night.

) then she says "well i will call you later, ok?

I had a dub friend who did this to me for quite a while too. They just want to guilt you into attending meetings, at the very least. I say just try to get over it and move on.

have you found some new band or artist that you would reccomend we listen to...for this to work we would need to know what style of music you normally listen to and then we can know if its what we would enjoy...eg.

i like pink floyd...genesis...yes...etc.....................and have just found mercury rev......brill

I don't buy any of the Bible being inspired anymore, but I find it more and more facinating. I love reading about how the books were compiled and the conditions they were written in.

hi everyone.... i was "raised" as a dub and got baptised in '86...so in total i had been a jw for over 20 years.

i came to realize that the "way of life" i was living was in fact made up of mostly lies.

i started "questioning" the borg about 6 years ago and finally came out with almostatheist last sept. i know in my heart that they are mostly wrong and very legalist.

Slim, you might as well think it is possible that there is a toothfairy if you think that organization might by some f**ked up twist of logic have the 'truth' and the only channel of redemption of humankind. Would you bank your life on the toothfairy? If they might have the 'truth' you are saying that it's possible that God is insane and wants to choose only certain deluded morons at random that have no interest in real 'truth' to have the 'truth'. Any reasonable person can see this is crazy and an insult to the true God (if there is one) if they do enough research. Maybe you haven't.

Have you read "Crisis of Conscience" and "In Search of Christian Freedom" yet?

hello all, i've been reading your site for a couple of years now, and have found, for the most part, it to be very helpful.

i must say, at first i was very "scared" at what i might find, but contrary to what i grew up learning, there is a "wealth" of information outside of the watchtower organization.

i haven't attended meetings for about two years now, and like many i've read about, have spent many hours researching, telling myself "i'm not wrong for searching", and doing more research.

Are the Society planning a 'Pledge of Allegiance'? IT MAY BE TRUE!

i've just learned from a trusted contact at thewatchtower.org 'norris', that the society intend to put a resolution to the congregations shortly - though definately not at the 'special talk' meeting next month.. here's the scary bit.

this resolution needs to be responded to by all baptized jehovah's witnesses.

we have not been able to get hold of the wording but have been informed it is intended to provide the brotherhood with the opportunity to affirm their loyalty to jehovah and his organization.
