I had thought about doing that too except I was thinking of doing it on Holloween......Can you imagine the look on their faces as they rush to get it all removed before their meeting ?

Special meeting & a mini ramble about Xmas lights
by Why Georgia inwe were out christmas shopping and drove past the kingdom hall.
7:30 pm on a saturday night..not an empty parking space to be found.
there were more cars than when the memorial happens.. drove by at 9:30 pm and more than 3/4's of the parking lot was still full.... why would there be a meeting?

I peersonally did not make excuses and went faithfully 5 days a week. My mother on the other hand could walk all over yard sales and to shopping malls but continues to use her disability to excuse her from service work.

When you were a witness, did you ever feel that you were persecuted?
by MsMcDucket infrom what going on with my daughters, i'd say they are the ones that's trying to persecute me.
their actions are making me want to take repercussions against them (take my car back, phone, etc...).
i'm sure if and when i do these things they will say that they are being persecuted.

Well I was told while out in field service by the elder that was studing with me that I would not make a good husband because I was on disability and only made a $1,000.00 a month rather than thousands. I could'nt understand why he would say that to me considering that there were already many men in the congregation that had wives making the bread. That had really pissed me off and was part of my leaving the society.

I got my first chance today
by oldflame ina disabled friend of mine needed a ride today to an appointment, while i was sitting in my van reading the newspaper waiting for my friend a older woman walked up to my window.
i had in down 5 or 6 inches because i was smoking a cigg.
i could see that she had her bag full of watchtowers and awakes and so i said you must be a jehovah's witness ?.

I had in down 5 or 6 inches because I was smoking a cigg. I could see that she had her bag full of watchtowers and awakes and so I said you must be a jehovah's witness ?
She said yes I am so I told her that I had my own faith and that I disagreed with her religion. She said what do you disagree with ? So I told her how the scriptures explains that when someone prophecies in Gods name that they will come true if they are indeed from God. And how the society had done so many times and they never came true. She asked me what kind of prophecies did they make and I mention several dates from the 1800's up to 1975.
She said to me well I can see you have done your homework and I said yes I have done lots of research on thier religion. I then told her how the society had change words in the scriptures to fit their doctrine and that I had communicated with several bible scholars without mentioning and bible name or religion and I had been warned about the NWT. She said well other translations altered the bible too and I said how's that ? She said well they took Jehovah out of the bible and I said no they society just added it to the bible.
Then she looks away from me and says well my friends are waiting for me so I better go. I said well thanks for the discussion and she said well I can see that you know your bible pretty good and that I am not going to be able to change you and I replied NOPE ! I said I love the Lord and I read my scriptures everyday. She walked away stunned I could tell and so I wished her with Gods blessings and she left.
For the first time since coming out in 2001 I awaited for this opportunity and I finally got to get a piece in on a witnoid, and someone i did not know as a witness. It was different than trying to discuss with family because there were no ties or bonds and speach was free. That was way cool I hope someday I will see her here......

I too also believe that the soldiers interviewed were prescreened as all of those at any conference, where bush is speaking are prescreened. That is his way man. He can't handle being asked questions that might put his ass on a string. I will say this as a veteran of the armed forces myself that I respect all of you soldiers for your lives that you give for our country. But I also know as a veteran that none of you have any choice in what you are doing.
Your commander in chief lied to you and he lied to us. I'm not saying Saddam was a nice guy, hell no, he was a cruel, mean and nasty dictator. I don't think he would of had the balls though to threaten us with weapons of mass destruction because he knew we would clean his clock if he did. I really don't think Saddam was that stupid or brave for that matter.
As I understand we the USA sold Saddam those agents so he could make those weapons he used on the Kurds. I also understand that he asked permission to attack the Kurds and it was given him permission.
As far as news stations goes Fox has thier fax machine tied right into the White House fax machine and they pretty much only tell what and how the White House tells them too. Bush is very controlling. I feel sorry for his wife as I would just bet he is somewhat abusive to her.
I am at a loss however on if we should cut and run or stay, I feel if we leave now it will create bigger problems than there are right now, but I also think that the insurgents are there because we are there and if we leave they will leave too. (MAYBE) That is going to be a hard decision to make but whatever they decide I hope nothing but good from it. Bush needs to do something right for a change as he has done absolutley nothing right since being in office except show Americans and the world just how corrupt government can be.

Are the gospels genuine?
by ackack ini've been reading the jesus puzzle and something interesting was this re-ordering of q. its seems like the various pieces of q in luke and matthew have different contexts.
this would support that the contexts for the q sayings were invented.. it seems that paul doesn't reference the gospels in any form.. does this support a late writing for the gospels and therefore calls into question how close the gospels were written to the alleged events of jesus' life?.
how would someone who believes in the gospels reconcile these differences?

I believe the gospels are genuine. The books in the bible are written by different people at different times. What would be the point or good if each book said the exact same thing ? If we all here were to present a situation, would it not be a different presentation than everyone else's. ? There is a game that often gets plaed when a group of people sit around a table or bar and one person starts with a saying or story and then it gets repeated by each person. By the time the story gets to the end it is a different story.
So the books of the bible are different, they were also written at different times and some have long spans between them. I don't think that any of this takes away from the purpose of the gospel, each one stays the same course but with different meaning and different purposes.
