Hey... We're home!

i took evelyne a copy of everyones wonderful thoughts... she cried more than once.

so, she saw the specialist just after lunch time.

it looks like, after 3 liters of iv, she has gone from 4.7 to 14!

ok...much to my surprise i went from senior to master tonight....i guess i didn't know what the next level was or the # of posts it took..... so what is next and how mant posts will it take to get there ?.

master....do i get a new pair of leather coveralls and a hood ?

yall... i just was talking with arrowstar... she is sans job right now... .

she told me that she is eating saltines and ranch dressing.. okay... i _know_ there's a boatload of ex-jws up there in dallas... yall think it might be possible to get her some real food?.

also - if anyone knows of a job opening that she might qualify for... could yall get in touch with her - and let her know?.

Arrowstar, I'm sorry you're going through this right now. It seems that there are many here who can't wait to help.

It makes me feel really good to see such an outpouring of love and concern and such a helpful attitude by people the society thinks are evil and selfish. Those B%#$#*&^rds wouldn't know a good hearted person if one kicked them in the shin. ((((hmmmm, I might try that))))))

start buying out time from non-essential activities.. how many times have we heard this phrase?.

ever wondered how much an average jw who preaches 10 hours a month, spends on jw activities in a year?.

My wife is in the hospital

hello my dear friends:.

i just wanted to let you know that my wife was admitted today to the hospital.

as you know she is 32 weeks pregnant with our son and unfortuanely, is very low on amniotic fluid.

watchtower

the new mag doesn't proclaim itself as the watchtower and it has no date on the front.

i think it could get lost in the pile of newspapers and fliers at my house.

any thoughts on the new look?

seeing this is the 5th anniversary of jwd, i was curious as to how many who still post here, were dyed in the wool jws, but later sucumbed to "the truth about the truth" .

were an active/semi-active jw, and this site and others were enough to convince you that your doubts had substance.

I was an elder with what I thought were easy to answer questions, if I just did a little research.

I came here about two years ago (and lurked what seems like forever) and certainly have had my questions answered. I can't express in words how helpful and healing this site has been. I struggle daily to keep myself happy and sane and to keep my family in one piece. I hope the knowledge I gain here will help me eventually pull my family out.

Now I am an elder with what I think are easy questions to answer, if THEY just did a little research.

The Concept That Holds Jehovah's Witnesses Captive.

it isn't what jehovah's witnesses believe about the bible that has made them captives of a concept.

it is what they believe about the watchtower society that has done it.. there are two things that are necessary to compare.. 1) the society's interpretation of matthew 24:45--47, the most important scripture in watchtower theology.. with.

2) watchtower history as it relates to their interpretation of matthew 24:45--47, the most important event in watchtower history, 1919 jesus's appointment of them as god's organization.. from don cameron's book, "captives of a concept".. if you haven't read it yet, it's right up there with 'crises of conscience'.if you have loved ones that you want to help get out of this organization, this book is the key.. blueblades

I've never heard that comment before nor the advice to use it. It's true that the WT does deal with deeper (no laughing) bible subjects and that often means prophecies, however, to say it is a magazine of prophecy is a stretch even for a strong dub.
