OMG the soldier with his penis sticking out is hilarious! I grew up with that book! I don't know if it's intentional or not but it doesn't matter to me - it's just so funny and weird. -

With two questions, i recieved two lies from some cart witnesses.
by brandnew intoday i walked up to a group of cart witnesses and picked up a watchtower.
i opened the watchtower up to the first page , and asked one of the witnesses if he had read it.. lie # 1... he said he read it.. i ask my second question to a woman witness sitting next to him , who by the way was hard to tear away from her cell phone..... "whats this watchtower about?
, "........ lie # 2 ... she said she read it , but forgot "exactly" what the main points were about..

WT is trying to scare off memorial partakers
by cookiemaster ini don't know how many of you still participate in the sunday wt study, but i unfortunately still do.
even though i was asleep half of the time, i did notice something i thought i should share with the rest, in case you haven't noticed.
a lot of the paragraphs were worded strongly against partaking and used clear language of intimidation and discouragement toward anyone thinking of partaking.

If they are able to discourage enough partakers and the number drops it will probably only be a temporary drop. It seems newer ones are having a harder time not participating in the emblems. At least that is what I have heard from the few friends I still have contact with. Maybe they are not studying with new ones enough or aren't being blunt enough when they study. -

KH 1st timer, could use some advice
by rathernotsay inhey people, .
i am soon going into a kh for the first time and i could use some advice around etiquette etc.
i know next to nothing besides the fundamental beliefs of jws, i personally dont believe in any religion, and that stance isnt ever going to change, however i don't want to come across as rude or disrespectful.

Hi rathernotstay. I'd just like to say that you need to remember that your wife is under a lot of pressure to "win you over without a word" into the organization. The pressure comes from the congregation members and not just the elders and of course from herself as well. You really need to remember that she truly believes that you and the kids are destined for eternal death if you don't convert and that can be a strong motivation for anyone but especially a mother.
You will need to be very cautious with your children because she and the congregation will do everything possible to indoctrinate them at every turn. If they need to be sneaky and underhanded they will because it's their eternal life at stake.
I wish you the best of luck.

Jdub Growth In USA?
by freein2004 indoes anybody have any information on recent growth in the jdub religion?
other than their own reports?

From my own experience I know there are a lot of WINOs in the local KHs. (witness in name only). They know all the right lingo and what clothes to wear and what to say they like and dislike. But in reality once they are at home or work they pretty much do as they please. The comment I've heard is 'hey I haven't fornicated or killed anyone so I'm ok'. -

jw.org cart days numbered?
by jookbeard inreading a report of an elder in a friends cong has been hiding and spying on the pioneers who seem to have a practise of dumping the cart and finding a local coffee shop, i've noticed that they do this in my local high street as well but this week they seemed to be all huddled around the cart, they've clearly been warned, a vast percentage of the time i see they seem to be more interested in fiddling with their mobile phones and gossiping, is just seems these carts are a means for the pioneers to turn in "easy time" i wonder what sort of figures show how much literature is being taken by the public?
i bet its very minimal.
naturally the gb would say they are a phenomenal success , we clearly know they are not.

That's great InsidetheKH. Sounds a lot like the way Jesus did his ministry..... -

Yep. It's busy work and has the side benefit of being a "privilege" to set some apart as special in the congregation.
The dubs will stand by the cart for a week or two and then slowly go back to their natural state of drinking coffee and playing on their phones until someone guilts them again. so the cycle will continue. All the while carts will be a phenomenal success that all should reach out for the privilege of doing.. yuck!

The entire focus of the dub religion is to gain more members and they only grew 2%! That's pathetic.
That tells me that gaining new members is the main stated focus of the dubs, but on an individual member level the main focus is just surviving to the end.

They should exercise soundness of mind and not use pictures from R rated films. -

Memorial Question?
by naazira inover the years, i've come to notice that some of the friends will not touch the plate with the bread or the cup of wine ,when the emblems are being passed around.
i remember a row of 3 people told the brother to skip over them.
every year i have noticed this behavior.

I also find that passing the plate among the plate handlers is so weird. I've commented on it before but my wife just thinks I'm looking to make trouble. How can she not see that it's a weird tradition.
