Welcome to the forum Tony. I'm glad you have had a chance to do research and make your mind up for yourself. I have known others who did what it took to get reinstated before doing the fade away. It's probably not too easy but you know that by now. Just keep moving forward. I hope you meet some on here from your area. Maybe you can plan a exjw meetup. -

Mays JW TV Broadcast/Your feedback is appreciated
by ToesUp ini have a pretty good intuition but i have to admit i am going back and forth on the jw tv may broadcast.
i keep asking myself are they really in financial trouble (wishful thinking) or are they just grabbing for more money?.
i always appreciate reading everyone's thoughts and ideas on here.. let me know what you think.

Kingdom Hall loans Cancelled? Lurkers...please read
by ToesUp ini hope that writing this, there will be some lurkers that i can shake.. if you have not listened to mays tv broadcast, please do.
it may wake some up.. note @ around 21-22 minutes into the broadcast lett brings up the the kingdom halls/assembly hall loans have been cancelled and the congregation can now send in what they can afford.
wow...how many banks would do that?.

My guess is that since publishers didn't see those parts of the letter that you mention that maybe the broadcast will wake up some elders... -

may 04, 2015. cornwall, ontario - it's nearly time for the annual pilgrimage to cornwall for thousands of jehovah's witnesses.. the faithful will start converging in cornwall on june 12 for the first of three watch tower conventions being held at the cornwall civic complex in the ed lumley arena.. altogether more than 7,500 delegates will be attending the three conventions, pumping in excess of $3.5 million dollars in economic benefits into the community, the city said monday.

I faded and my kids are free. I am doing all I can to make sure they stay that way.
Stillin, I really feel for your situation. Family issues are really hard to deal with.
Your wife puts the WTS ahead of you and the kids. You've been around long enough to know that.
In my opinion you should make sure you put your kids and your relationship to them ahead of the WTS. If that means going against your wife so be it just don't flaunt it in her face.
I can't wait to celebrate Christmas and other holidays with my kids and grandkids.
I know it's easy to talk from the sidelines but like you I am living this every day.

Why did everyone dress like it was the 1950s and is it me or was 99.99% of everyone in the video supposed to be a white person?
For me it's not that the video was wrong but I cannot believe they would show this at a meeting. The witnesses from the 1940s and 1950s must be rolling over in their graves. Can you imagine what Fred Franz or Knorr would say about this stuff?

by DanielC ini've been dating a jw girl for about 4 years and we've recently had a lot of issues with the fact that her family doesn't like that i'm not a jw.
i've been looking into the religion and am interested in it.
but is it wrong to join just so i don't lose her?

DanielC, I am married to a witness. The witness religion affects every aspect of their life. Even if she isn't a strong witness now that switch can be flipped at any time. Usually as soon as you have relationship problems, married or not, they get really into the witness stuff. Life will not be the smooth ride you hope for or deserve. This isn't even mentioning the family, the congregation and the elders that will have their nose in every aspect of your relationship. Yes, every aspect, including sex and what types of sex are acceptable and clean.
Remember, her status now is probably weak because she's dating you, a worldly guy, but that weak status could change at any point - usually happens with any stress that comes into their life or if you progress to have kids. You can almost gurantee that if you ever have kids she will 100% do everything in her power to make them witnesses. Trust me, that's a mess you don't want to deal with.
