So older congregations that sit on valuable land may be sold and the dubs directed to some further away KH that was under utilized, which will now be over utilized. I bet the neighbors of the over utilized KHs will love the extra traffic every day of the week...not! -

I had a candy dish filled with Hershey kisses and m&m's for the housekeeper. She ate my food and still got me in trouble. Not serious trouble. I even got in trouble for messy power cords once.
Some of the housekeepers were so unattractive and others were so hot. It was tough being a virginal super horny young person with no outlet for all that frustration. I loved it when sisters would visit and we could flirt. It was like a swarm of flies all competing to see who could get their attention. Man, we must have looked pathetic.

Nosey housekeepers were the worst. I was called to the homeoverseer several times as well. It was valuable time off work.
Remember how serious we took interdepartmental sports? For those not there just know that sports was a huge part of bethel and the games between various departments could heat up fast.

Family Reuinion and Being Disfellowshipped (sorry...but it's long)
by babygirl30 init has been a long looong time since i posted on here, but never ceased reading all the posts and keeping up on the changes that have been going on!
but it just seems that now i have a need to get something off my chest, and this is the one place that will most definitely understand the topic at hand.
i have been disfellowshipped for about 8yrs now, and have dealt with the 'consequences' of that decision: all my so-called friends in the org left and i was also abandoned by my own family.

Do you guys remember the prayers by Gangas (sp?)? Or how COUCH would get so angry and draw out the word "hoooooomoooooosexxxxxuallllllll". He was a nut.
I'm pretty sure it was Gangas who would go on and on in his prayers with all kinds of adjectives for jehovah. Like, great and powerful, loving, strong, kind, kingly and all knowing jehovah. We should have made a drinking game out of it.
Remember the special Gilead graduation meals? And half work days so we could attend graduation?

I kept all my bethel paperwork. Entrants school stuff, phone bills, dish duty sheets, even copies of several versions of the Dwelling manual.
I still have clothes with my tagged number on them.
I kept the phone book too.

Demoted from elder to MS, anybody ever heard of this?
by Naoscillator inso a friend in a nearby hall told me their co came through, and in a hellish week of long meetings and inquisition overhauled the boe.
only one remains as elder, three were re-appointed as ms, and one, the cobe was deleted entirely.. two new elders were brought in as new secretary and cobe / watchtower conductor, respectively, and introduced to the congregation from the platform on sunday immediately following his second talk.
he reminded everybody of the authority he has and then named the new appointees.

Although now that COs have the appointing power perhaps the rules have changed on demotion. -

Just two weeks in our new home and the knock at the door happens!!
by truthseekeriam injust relaxing with my morning coffee enjoying looking at the pictures fipper shared of the camping trip when the dreaded knock came.
of course the dogs beat me to the door followed by my daughter trying to catch them, she looks through the giant peep hole and waves me away saying "its them.
" i almost just walked away from the door when i saw the sweet face of a 5/6 year old little boy with his mom and dad and couldn't resist talking to them.. i opened the door and smiled and said jehovah's witnesses?

Use of first names at the KH
by Sour Grapes inhave you ever noticed that know one uses first names at the kh?
it is how are you brother jones?
how are you sister smith?

I used brother/sister and last name in formal congregation settings or with people I didn't know very well. If it was someone I knew well I used their first name and dropped the brother/sister crap.
