  after reading his "manifesto" it seemed like he may have been influenced.

  things like being "unevenly yoked", etc.

  i know other religions may talk about that but dubbies seem to harp on it more.

  Do Jehovah’s Witnesses Ever Do Anything For Anyone But Themselves?

  i was thinking of how witnesses were always admonished to take care of their own before they should ever help a worldly neighbor.

  i don’t think they ever do anything for the community unless it’s a benefit to them..

  What a great way to get rid of all those old Awakes & Witchtowers. And tell them that soon the whole earth will look like Paradise...uhh the one here in CA...but wait there's another one coming soon, a new one with body snatcher people inhabiting it.

  What was it they used to say...something about a lifesaving work which was greater than any charity...excuse me, I gotta throw up now.

  Glad I saw this topic because I almost forgot what I saw about a week and half ago. I drove by the Chico Bidwell Cong which sits on the Skyway just below Paradise (the town that went up in flames). I almost drove off the road because there was a sign on the side of the building that said "Fire Relief Center" or words to that effect. It was a pretty large banner. Of course JW.org was on it too.

  This has to be a PR move to get some good publicity...or maybe it's some scheme to horn in on govt money that's available to charities and relief centers who are helping. I wanted to go in and inquire but if certain people were there I would have been kicked out. I have a friend who will prob go in and ask for me. If she does I'll report back. They have a fair-sized parking lot but I didn't see any tents, trailers or RV's.

  Hello. Haven't been here in awhile...quite awhile. I'm a Chicoan, have lived in Paradise and now live about 15 mins north of Chico. Go into town everyday to check my p.o. box and was there this morning. Air is definitely bad...mask time if you're outside. Anyway just wanted to mention I have two friends who have lost their homes and everything. I'm waiting for the release of the names of the confirmed casualties to see if I lost any friends. The outpouring of generosity and help has been incredible.

  As someone mentioned the JDubbs have not opened their doors for their "worldly" neighbors, as the churches have done, and may not have even helped their own...not sure on that. I would imagine the Paradise Hall went up in smoke...if it didn't it was a miracle of Jehovah. If it did, just some more of Satan's attempts to stop the preaching work and persecute Big J's peeps. Still have occasional run-ins with them when they mistakenly come to my door. Just recently had them running for the road when I introduced them to things they never heard before...U.N....Child molestation...flip flop doctrines etc.
  

  Don't post much because I'd like to think it was just a bad dream. My life is so much better without them although my daughter still shuns me and I have never seen my only grandchild, a girl, now 2 years old. My only fam is my son with whom I have a great relationship.

  Since I'm here...Hello to Flipper. Wasanelder...Are you from Chico? Prob know some of the same JW players....Also, 3rdgen, I think you said you were from Redding. I spent my early years there and we might know some of the same...Parkers, Erwins (might be Irwin), Niehoff, Wood, Dalke, prob others. It's fun to catch up and see if anyone else escaped.

  Unfortunately she passed on Sat morning after turning 96 in January.

  Some sad irony ... my super spiritual daughter (married to a young elder) accidentally got pregnant and gave birth to a little girl the day before mom died. I never told her she was going to be a great grandma...I think it would have made her even sadder. She was pretty cognizant almost up to the end. Of course I heard about it through the grapevine and I will never see my only granddaughter either.

  I want to thank all of you for your kind words and support through all of this. As much as I hate that cult I am moving on with my life and thankful I am no longer affiliated with any of it. A friend of mine has been trying to get Dr. Phil (who I don't really admire) to do a show on shunning. Probably like him more if he did it..lol.

  Thanks again and God Bless all of you, or at least those of you who still believe in Him/Her. It's the Flying Spaghetti Monster for the rest of us.
