t here are some sisters in my congregation, who, with a hand full of coupons, could get us out of there for under $2000.
Richie you crack me up.
my congregation along with about thirty others attends circuit assemblies at a facility that is owned by the organization (a converted school).
this building also has a section that serves as a kh for three local congregations.
i have noticed that when the financial reports are read at the assemblies that the expense (which is not detailed) is always around $4,000.

my most frightening experience occured about 12 years as i was driving in a safari park with wild animals like tigers around.
there was suddenly a very loud explosion under the bonnet and that really frightened me and my two passengers, if there is to be a fire what do we do with tigers outside?
fortunately it soon became clear that there was no fire only a lot steam came gushing out, the cooling system had over heated and a pipe got burst asunder .
Brooke, you rock!!!

I'll tell you mine if you promise not to laugh.
I was walking to work a young girl of 17. I heard these footsteps behind me getting closer. Then I heard this heavy breathing getting closer. I thought oh no this is it I'm going to be attacked. I braced myself. Just as it was right next to me I saw it was just a man walking his huge dog, (it was the dog doing the heavy breathing).
Boy was I relieved. Good thing it was just a dog too because I couldn't remember if the WTBS said I had to scream or I didn't have to scream.
let's hear the weirdest comment or suppossed logical thought you've ever heard a witness say.. i'll start: out in service once a sis and her son were in the same car group as i was.
he was having a nose bleed and told his mom that the blood was running down the back of his throat.
his mother said " well don't swallow it yo uknow how jehovah feels about blood don't you!".
ET's finger being a phallic symbol
That is one ugly phalic symbol. That would be enough for me never to want to have sex again...lol Good thing I didn't about et's finger before I saw a real one.
'Well he's black, he wouldn't know stuff like that
Like Jay Leno says you can't make this stuff up.
.
i don't know if this is real or a joke so i will put it in the humor section.
i am thinking it is a joke but you never know these days.. http://www.dogcondoms.com/
well how would the condom stay on... once it retracts?
years ago, when my pop was on one of his "serving where the need is great" missions, we finished up living in yeovil, down in darkest somerset.
the meetings were held in a 2 story rented hall.
the kingdom hall was on the lower floor.
My mom always told me there were headquartered in Florida. I wonder who is in Florida that she didn't want me to know about.
i wasnt the most academic of children although i had some capability but i could read quite well by the time i was 4 years old at least for my age; i have always read as a child and still read now as an adult both professionally (research) and for pleasure.
i have always been able to write too...and pretty much advanced as well as my peers did in school...perhaps i am lucky, i certainly feel like i am when illiteracy amongst adults and children is rife at present...however.. i remember when i was 16 the wts in the uk were pushing through a scheme teaching those who were not as able to read and write...and an elder in the hall made a point of coming to me and suggesting that i should actually attend the training!!
!....i explained that i could read and write well enough and didnt need to be taught basic literacy... he said that i might learn something new and should respect jehovahs order of things and show appreciation...i did decline his kind offer rather abruptly....but wtf??
I'm surprised you did (go back) purps.
The most condencending thing that I heard an elder say wasn't directed to me but was about me. Said to my new husband (who was previously married, to a physcopath I might add) " so ya found yourself another one huh?"
I think he's just jealous he wasn't getting any.
the last straw for me was when an attendant grabbed 22 yr. old me at a cnvention and told me to come inside it was time for it to start.
i said no, and he got in my face.
anyone else get told what to do as an adult?
Little did that attendant know that the PO of the cong. was my father.
Perfect would have loved to see the look on his face.
My girlfriends and I were going to attend a second DC one summer (glutton for punishment you say, nope just looking for new brothers), we had already been to ours. I don't know how we managed to it but we got lost. We decided to eat and go to the end of the session. It's not like we were missing any spritual food we had already had our assigned DC that year. This was purely for the purpose of meeting new brothers.
Anyway as the closing song was being sung we were walking up the DC site. Some brother younger than us said to his friends well look at this just coming for the end of the convention. Well one of my friends motuhed off at him. It was funny but had to be there for the full effect.

Love2bworldly:
if he comes knocking on my door even if he's drunk and it's the middle of the night, I am to let him in to have sex with me anytime he wants it
Let them play dutiful wifey to him. I bet they would change their tune.

Your husband cannot be an alcoholic as you presume since he told us that he had the ability to go without alcohol for three days
I personally know an alcoholic that can go for some months w/o a drink. But they still have the same attitude. I think it's called a dry alcoholic. their attitutde is still unchristian.
