Huge shock!

i just got a major shock.

i can't believe the new levels of cruelty possible within families who are jws.. a friend on this board who i've known since i was a baby practically has managed to get me a picture of my little sister who i haven't seen for 8 years - the one who i've mentioned my dad said was working on the bethel quick build team.

the one who i've described my fears that she and my younger sister are staying single until armageddon.

My fam have been great with me compared with this BS.

I just got back from OS (remember me from the bbq crumpet?)

told my old man i cant see myself going back to the truth anytime soon and its not because i wanna live in sin through weakness, but ive learnt a few things about the WBTS that make me doubt they are who they claim to be. I said Id let him know if he wants to hear it he said yeah tell me, so i told him about 'quotes' and his embarrassing site and the UN issue and left it at that. hopefully he'll let it stew for a while. i see light, it seems possible. I am grateful, my situation is much better than others it seems.

So my humble advise, let him (and perhaps also an elder or 2) know that you dont have any intention of coming back and that shunning you to this extent is not going to help in any way.

'Gay weddings' are legal in the UK from today. How do you feel about it?

at least 1,200 ceremonies are confirmed as being scheduled already and registrars are preparing for the first ceremonies, with couples permitted to register from monday morning.

I am not JW but i have a q uestion for you guys and gals

k theres this girl at my school, i absolutely fell in love with her, i'm serious to, it's not just a fling....it's love, her eyes, her smile, her personality, i truely love her, and recently she told me she couldn't go out with me because of her religion,(jw), she crushed my heart, .

now plzzzzz tell me.......when would she ever be allowed to date...cause this feeling for her will never die......i love her.

why would i get a feeling as important as this, if it could never be

Im not surprised he walked after Terrys comments, the blokes in a difficault situation and wants some advice on a subject thats completely new to him and hes made to look like an idiot, we were all young once and in love once, he should stick with it. Research for when he gets bible bashed by the fam, stay cool and leave the ball in her court. Tell her your prepared to wait til you get married and stick around, maybe shell come around.

THE MOTIVES OF GOOD JWS WHO POST ON THIS SITE

while i think it's perfectly okay, i do wonder what motivates jws to post here and especially to also express views critical of ex-jws.

is it the freudian notion of "projection": the jw who denounces something in others that he or she is also guilty of?

hence, if a jw clearly denounces an apostate's faults, it must mean the jw is really against apostasy when it might be something he or she struggles with.

noone is a 'good' witness, theres always that sisters cleavage glimps or whack in the shower you had (just after the 'part' about masturbation--banging head against wall) that convinces us we are lower than the dust, and we're supposed to feel that way cos then were prepared to do anything to regain status with the Jman and maybe (fingers crossed) get into the new world, i just came to the realisation that im no saint and never will be. 'Oops, better tell the elders. Oops, see ya later'.

When I first arrived i liked the top left corner of the page '...everyone welcome!' so welcome, 'come one come all !!'

glad i found this board and hope to have some interesting discussions.

i'll post my story later today, but in the meantime; i'm a single parent with 2 kids, was a jw for 26 years in total (born one, left at 17 years, went back at 21), became inactive 4 years ago and disassociated myself 4 weeks ago!.

my experience with the bible org.

Sad story as alot here, big hugs and hope things move on the up and up,

and enjoy the fact that you walked, for the disfellowshipped people like myself its something to dream of as we could never go back-get reinstated-then disassociate as much as we'd like to our free thinkin minds are havin too much fun. (id prob average about 12-15 eye rolls per W/T study which my 'ever mindful' elders would eventually pick up on.

welcome and remember it gets better. (sounds like it already is)

no (i believe) they threatened to sue him for lost revenue because he printed their material for free,

but they are non profit.. hence no case.

i think watchtower observer is down due to hosting that blew out $$$ wise which ive been meaning to email kent about....

also it is very time consuming for the Big Kahuna who has been working hard for years, only a stubborn viking would keep at them soooo long. nice work

I know he has all the info saved tho so us younger crew should get together to get it back up. power to the people.
