I don't like my feet either. They are just gross. From all the years of running marathons and playing basketball they are just beat to hell. Plus the tops of them are hairy.

I found a great quote that I'd like to share. It's from some dude named Richard Burton. But I found this to be true about my friendships that came to an end. "When the chips are not exactly down but just scattered about, you discover who your real friends are."
I am starting to get over the hurt, and I now don't miss any of them. Because they weren't really my friends anyway. The pain heals as time marches on.

This is actually getting too funny. I love the fact Jehovah's name is getting dragged through the mud. Wacko Jacko is going to have to call Prince up there to vouch for his religous practices.

Is Confession Actually A Bad Thing To Do?
by Englishman inwhen i make mistakes ( i do, i do!
) or do something really bad, the last thing i think about is confessing to it.. i apologise where appropriate, try to learn from the experience and generally file away the event so's to maybe profit by the experience.
sometimes i even feel remorse!.
-
Dustin
Usually confession just gets you in trouble. Seriously though, I used to feel like I had to confess all the time, and always make sure I had a clear conscience about everything. But I got sick of always feeling like I needed to do that. Now I just bottle it all up, and let time take care of it. No need to tell everyone all my problems and sins.

As a single woman she became more independant
by purplesofa inexerpt from 2/1/05 wt is the truth bearing fruit in those you teach?.
consider how another christian was able to help her bible student.
the student was attending meetings and sharing in the ministry and had already expressed a desire to get baptised.

I absolutely hate the way the organization treats women. As a man I see it as disgusting to them and insulting. I rely on my wife just as much as she relies on me. All people should have an independent spirit. You should be allowed to be your own person.

Then and now - sports
by larc inearlier, i wrote, "then and now" on military service and dating practices .
onacruse and alanf encouraged me to do this.
i am 64, so i really do know the religion of the 40's and 50's.

It's that bitterness that is driving me this year in my training for my half marathon coming up. It's a big part of me. Talking to people who understand that really helps me. It's been a long road getting back to feeling normal after leaving that religion. I'll make sure I do good, and I'll let you know my time. The run is the second weekend in May.

Evil SMURFS?
by marked inokay, what's the deal with the smurfs?
i've heard mention here and there about some 80s rumours regarding demonized smurfs (or something) that got jws in a panic.
i remember when i was a kid my aunt telling my mother about smurf dolls with blood on them walking around, i think.

Dustin
I really don't know. I just remember wierdos at the hall saying they saw a Smurf drinking from the fountain, and weird stuff like that. It was just strange. I too was banished from watching it, and told it was demonic. I would like to know who started that whole JW urban legend.
