I remember when me and my wife joined a gym, and suddenly all the other JW couples joined the same one. Then the JW's complained about the angry rock music blasting over the speakers, and whined until it changed. They also complained about any hot girls skimpy outfit, and stupid crap like that. Soon it wasn't fun anymore.

Inappropriate "shepherding" calls.
by avishai inhow many have recieved calls by the elders that were under the guise of "shepherding", but somehow inappropriate, i.e, you were a woman alone with only one elder showing up, or you felt physically intimidated by both.
or say they show up at like, 10:30 at night for a shepherding call.
and you say "hey, i appreciate the visit but please call first!

Would you go to a funeral at the Kingdom Hall?
by Dustin inso my brother and i have been having talks about what will happen when our dad passes away eventually.
most of his brothers and sisters have died in their 50's or early 60's.
i flat out refuse to attend any part of the service that would be done at the kingdom hall.

Thanks Beachbender. I have been having a hard time with it more and more lately. I remember how it used to feel to have parents that actually seemed to care for you. Now that I think on my own it's like I'm evil. Thank you for the advice on the funeral. I am pretty sure that's exactly what would happen to me.

I used to hate it when they would come unanounced at times that didn't work. Then they would pull the same crap about how this was urgent, and could mean my life. I have a big middle-finger for their sheperding calls now. Fortunately, I will never have another one.

So my brother and I have been having talks about what will happen when our dad passes away eventually. Most of his brothers and sisters have died in their 50's or early 60's. I flat out refuse to attend any part of the service that would be done at the Kingdom Hall. Is this wrong of me? I thought about it quite a bit recently, and even though it would be an emmotional time, I would not step a foot in that craphole of a cultish church. They are the ones who destroyed any relationship that I had with my parents! When the subject came up I couldn't believe how much anger I felt at just the thought of pulling in the parking lot of the Kingdom Hall.
I certainly would not want any of their "comfort". I don't know if I would even attend. It's really been upsetting to me lately, and even though I want to reach out to my parents and try and fix this, I know they are being mind controlled by a bunch of freaks. Should I try and fix this, or should I let them come to me?

I "lovingly" DA'd myself. Everything about that whole cult just makes me sick and angry at the same time. It's amazing how skewed your perspective on life is when you follow their prime directives. I can't believe my parents can't see through the BS, they lovingly shun me. But I guess whatever makes them happy.

much as the catholic church did in the middle ages when they had the opportunity to treat their dissenters as they wished.
already the way the gb wants apopstates treated is as vicious as can be, manifests a deeply seated maliciousness and animosity and is calculated to hurt as much as possible under the present day circumstances.

Elder Condemned Me to Death
by Grace ini have been thinking about this because of another post where the question asks have any of us ever been blackmailed to stay in the watchtower organization.. no, i won't say i was blackmailed; however, after i wrote my note of disassociation, the congregation overseer wanted to visit me in my home with two other elders.
i repeatedly said no, that i would not allow them to chastise me in my own home.
therefore, all of my conversations were over the phone with the overseer.

Don't feel too bad. They told me the same thing. Everyone dies sometime. They are only humans, and don't know anymore about what happens when we die than you or me. So don't let it stress you out too badly.
