It's bad!! I dance with my arms and my legs don't move. If my legs do move then it looks spastic. It's actually kind of funny. I want to learn to dance like Napoleon Dynamite.

Yo, Vlove that is one of the stupidist Bible verses. It just shows that the Bible is a book written by men and not inspired by God in my opinion. Who actually believes crap like that anyway? My wife is the best thing that ever happened to me. Her opinions and decision making ability make her my equal and my partner in my home. For somone to view women as second class citizens shows their ignorance.

Why remember the bad treatment?

I was treated like crap by the JW's all of my life. When I found this forum it was a way for me to share my experiences and people helped me understand that I wasn't the only one. It gave me the stregnth to abandon the fear,guilt, and hate that was left behind. If I can help others to achieve the same I would gladly do that.
People talk about it because it helps them.

I'm not denying things are getting a little out of hand at times. But, in the 80's things looked like the Cold War was going to escalate into Armageddon. But it didn't. My view is this, I don't know what the future holds. No one does, including 12 men who brainwash people into believing they do. I can't control the future, and I'm not going to live my life every day worrying about it. If the world ends there's not a damn thing I can do about it. God knows I've lived my life as a good person, and if he's out there he will recognize that.
So my question is why allow a bunch of hypocrites at the society to cotrol your lives? How do you know they are really God's people?

No, because the JW religion always ingrained in our minds that things are so bad. To me it seems the same as it's always been. For all the bad things that happen, there are also so many good and kind acts that happen too. The society just chooses not to acknowledge those things. They paint the world out to be a place of gloom and doom. I'm much happier since I left them, and feel much more in control of my life. Shit happens, that doesn't mean the world is gonna disappear.

Sorry to hear they are being so uncool about everything. My parents have been pretty decent about it. It sucks when people (especially family) have to be such pricks about it. It's your choice how you want to respond to them. If it makes you more at peace just letting them go, then that's what you should do. Sometimes it's just better off to not fight some battles.
