  Article in the 80's on stolen babies for organ transplant, in Awake.

  does any one remember the watching the world article that claimed babies were being stolen in s america, colombia i think, though i could be wrong on the country, but being stolen so that their organs could be harvested and sold for transplant.

  it turned out to be wrong and they had to print some sort of a retraction?

  Early in 1988 a not-much-publicized discovery was made at Santa Caterina Pinula, Guatemala. There, according to a resolution of the European Parliament, local authorities found a "casa de engorde," or "fattening center," where newborn babies purchased for as little as $20 (U.S.) were sold to American or Israeli families for $75,000. The purpose? So that the families purchasing them could use the infants’ organs for their own children who were in need of organ transplants, said the resolution. It also states that in 1987 a similar "fattening center" was found in Honduras "near to which the bodies of many children were found, some of them new-born babies, from which one or more organs had been removed." Another was found in Guatemala City "whose register indicated the sale abroad . . . of 170 babies, the major part of which were sent to the United States for the removal of organs." The Parliament’s resolution has been issued to various agencies and governments, calling for appropriate action to be taken against those responsible for this horrible practice.

  I couldn't find a WT retraction but I did find a link that explains the myth.

  I found this on MySpace:

  Two Brothers were preaching at a house when the owner woman decided she didn't want to trust the NWT and so she went for her NIV. Well, when she was gone, her small dog started to bite one of the Brother's leg. The Brother just kind of hit it on the head with his briefcase (not hard) and the dog died!!!! The dog died because of a small bonk on the head!!! So the Brother, who was scared, picked the dead dog up and put it in his briefcase and went back to the car. When his friend got in the car he said, "She was calling for her dog when I left."

  A friend of mine died in September. She had leukemia and the doctors told her she wouldn't last 2 weeks without a transfusion. They were right.

  Her father is an HLC member.

  Please support Barbara's effort to force a change in the Watchtower

  I'm writing letters to my family right now. I will also be sending out information to many of the JWs I know.

  after reading barbara's thread i promptly emailed everyone i knew with the information and told them to come here to check it out.. i figured while i was at it, i would send emails to some of the jws on myspace.

  i only emailed people that belonged to a private, jw only group.

  i figured i would get some nasty replies but i didn't expect to be emailed by a female pedophile.

  Just so I don't have egg in my face should it not live up to the expectations

  I did worry about that. But I figured if I got some JWs to come over hear and take a look around it might be worth it. I only emailed a handful of JWs to help create a buzz. I'll launch a major information campaign after the news breaks.

  I nearly spilled my wine when I read that.

  I had a busy day planned but with all this excitement, I have done nothing but sit in front of the computer and chat on the phone all day. I'm so anxious I had to crack open a bottle of wine a little bit ago. I'm beginning to resemble my avatar.

  I figured I would get some nasty replies but I didn't expect to be emailed by a female pedophile. This woman claims in her profile to be 37. She would have been about 27 at the time of the incident. Here is a copy of the email (foul language and real names have been edited out):

  I received another email from an underage teenage JW girl whose profile features nudity, graphic sex talk and foul language.

  I'm no prude but, don't criticize me for not believing in the JW belief system when you claim to be a Witness and do everything they tell you not to do.

  This is all so exciting. I can barely wait to hear what the news will be.

  My family has been on a major rampage lately. I was falsely accused of handing out apostate literature to people and some of my family members that still talk to me were threatened that they will be cut off if they keep associating with me.

  I’m not DFed. I just moved and did the fade and I haven’t been active in over 10 years.

  I know it’s not nice to wish bad on people but, after how badly they’ve been treating me lately, I would love to see their faces when it all comes crashing down.
