Effexor is a new drug that treats both depression and anxiety disorders. You used to have to take separate medications for those disorders. So far, this has been the best drug I've taken. I know several people that take it and they are doing really well also. I had some initial side effects - drowsiness, decreased interest in sex, extremely vivid dreams - but those have since worn off.

My quest for the woman able to convince me to give up my freedom and marry?
by DavidChristopher inmy firstborns son's mother i live with asked me today if i wanted anyone else.. i replied "yes, i want to know every unmarried woman on earth, so i can insure i will never feel like i missed out on something.
i want to find my match, a woman that can convince me to give up my free agent status, and spend forever as her property alone.
she got really mad.

No, I don't need to call the police for back up to protect me from my woman.
I didn't mean to imply that you needed protection from her. I was thinking more along the lines of providing documentation in case you wanted to sue for custody.

who attends a church now?
by meems101 in.
i'm interested in knowing how many, after leaving, started to attend a church.
if so, what one and how did you decide?

I would never sign a membership card or anything, Jesus has my membership card!
I wouldn't either. One of things I like about my church is that they don't have official membership rolls. If you attend, you are considered a Christian, not a Calvary Chapelite. The Pastor always tells the people who get saved to make sure they find a Christian church to fellowship at and it doesn't have to be Calvary Chapel.
I also like the fact that you are free to talk to the pastors about any questions or concerns you have. You would never be kicked out or shunned for disagreeing with something the pastor teaches.

I have been involved in Calvary Chapel's ever since. I married a pastor and we pastored a small IFCA Community Church. Now we are full time theology students at Calvary Chapel Bible College and we will go wherever God sends us.
That is so wonderful. I wish you and your husband all the best. Keep us updated so we can pray for your ministry.
I'm so happy to see so many Christians here.

parent murder due to medical negligence: Dateline
by Thegoodgirl indid anyone see the dateline special tonight: a mom was accused of murder because her diabetic daughter died, and the mom wasn't controlling the girl's blood sugars at all?
(the mom was taught and literally said "don't tell me how to take care of my own daughter.
") the girl dies at like age 9 or so, and her hemoglobin a1c was 16.1. normal is about 6.5, and 12 would be really high, 16.1 is astronomical.

I think the WTS would applaud parents who refused to give blood to their children and were convicted of murdering their children for the "cause".
I agree. They'd probably put their pictures on the cover of a Watchtower.
I think parents who refuse blood should be charged with neglect. Murder might be a little too strong. Don't they charge Scientology parents for refusing treatment? Why can't they charge JWs then?
I will never understand how a parent could do that. It's so sick, twisted and evil.

Sorry if I was harsh but you did leave out some very important info.
Your children should come first. If she is abusive you need to take steps immediately. If she is agreeable, you may be able to get counseling. If not, you need to take the child and leave. Not tomorrow, not next week. NOW. Call the police, report her to children's services. Trust me, your child will thank you for it later. Look for programs in your area for abused spouses. I just did some work for a charity that assisted abused men and women in restarting their lives.
The only thing worse than an abusive parent is a parent who stands by and lets their child be abused.

To all active JWs or double life JWs

The problem begins when the family begins to suspect that you're weak or apostate. Then, every time the talk to you or you see them it will be a double dose of subtle (sometimes not so subtle) WT infomercial. They'll casually talk about the latest magazines, or the great talk they heard, or all the great new people at the hall. You either learn to bear it or you blow up one day and tell the truth.
That's EXACTLY what happened to my husband and I. We were out for 10 years and thought we were in the clear. Then the in-laws started the never-ending nagging. We eventually just blew up at them one day.
My mother shuns me but she abused me when I was young so I don't really care that much. My husband's parents don't shun us. I think they tried to for a couple of days but they don't have the heart to do it. They are actually good people.

I bite my nails really bad too. I'm sure it has something to do with my anxiety disorder. My doctor recently put me on Effexor which seems to be working pretty good. I also have noticed that getting a regular manicure is a good deterrent to nail biting.

My husband has OCD.
- He organizes all the money in his wallet by serial number
- Color coordinates the clothes in his closet
- Can't eat any food that is touching other food
- Constantly counts things and looks for patterns
He does a pretty good job of playing it off though. If you met him you'd never realize he was like that.
