  i dropped out years ago because i couldn't stand getting together with sisters i didn't like to do a talk.

  i hated it with a passion!!

  i do realize that you did learn but what i resented was that the sisters were inflicted on each other in a way that i don't think the brothers were.

  ...my gran, who has been a jw since the 1950's will be reproved publicly for speaking to her grand-daughter who is disfellowshipped.

  she is 77 years old and i am worried that it will be the death of her.

  the"truth" has been her life for nearly fifty years and she is still a regular publisher.. if she continues to commit this gross sin she will be disfellowshipped.. her daughter and son in law are to be disfellowshipped for the terrible sin of allowing their daughter to live under their roof since she left her husband.

  On a transatlantic flight, a plane passed through a severe storm. The turbulence was awful, and things went from bad to worse when one wing was struck by lightning. One woman in particular lost it. Screaming, she stood up in the front of the plane. "I'm too young to die," she wailed. Then she yelled, "Well, if I'm going to die, I want my last minutes on earth to be memorable! Is there anyone on this plane who can make me feel like a WOMAN?"
  
  For a moment, there was silence. Everyone had forgotten his or her own peril. Eyes riveted, they all stared at the desperate woman in the front of the plane. Then a man from Texas stood up in the rear of the plane. He was handsome, tall, well built, with dark brown hair and blue eyes. Slowly, he started to walk up the aisle, unbuttoning his shirt, one button at a time.
  
  No one moved. He removed his shirt. Muscles rippled across his chest.

  He said, "Iron this -- and then get me a beer."

  about a month or two ago, i spent a week feeling incredibly sad.

  i cried at the drop of a hat and was very, very sad -- about what i didn't know.

  Well Nina,

  I would have never known you had all that anger before..since I first exchanged hello's with you, there has been nothing but positive coming of you. Even when you experienced death you still were cheering up others. It is very admirable. I thank you and am happy you have that peaceful feeling. Tis' Good!

  i hope this is not a repeat of past threads and i hope to get a lot of response.

  i am compiling info of how people are treated within the wts.

  i just read the post about a person being counseled for having baby shower games.

  I was 13 years old, sitting in the front row at the meeting with my ankles crossed. After the meeting, the elder who conducted the meeting came over to me and counseled me against wearing fishnet stockings and crossing my ankles.

  I got the patterned stocking talk in the 80's. I was so mortified then and now I LMAO

  I also got the having too much fun talking after meetings, too animated, to and the backward hat thing.

  I got the dressing to trendy thing, funny thing is I wore all thier kids hand me downs from the year prior.

  I got privately marked by parents because I was the perfect fall person. We all would go out and get stupid and everyone else had parents or were the elders kids. They got talked to and I would get the official public reproof so that everyone could see the situation was pinned on someone. The reasoning told to me was that I was more mature and the kids all looked to me, that I was infuential...which is funny because I was the backwards nerd that was the last to be invited and was always so scared that I would spoil the fun.

  ..ooh I got tipsy, got a kiss and peed in the boys bathroom at the Kindom hall because the elders kids and pioneers had the keys.

  Our Texas Memories

  well we started off on early saturday morning (apr 24) and drove down to louisiana for the first leg of our adventure.

  we stopped off for a brief visit with bryan and evelyn, and got to see the new baby boy, and he is real precious.

  it was good to see bryan and evelyn again, and hopefully i will be back down that way again soon.. while in louisiana we stayed 2 nights with my stepsister in gonzales la, and visited the french quarter in new orleans.

  Sorry I did not get to meet you, for I was sick and did not need to get everyone else sick. I think you probably met my daughter because she went to dinner at Kostas. She was the lil' blond girl with braces. It sounds like you had fun though and that was what everyone wanted! I am sure it was better than waiting at home waiting for antibiotics to be in my system 48 hours.

  Dragonlady, sorry I did not get to meet you. I hope you had a good time. Next time we will all have to go out.. (dancing)...don't worry I wont drive on a bike trail. Ask Z..
