My Christmas Present (A kitty)
by reneeisorym inconsidering that my christmas present was alive and couldn't be wrapped, i got her last friday.
the funniest thing is that she has taken up a spot under the christmas tree to sleep!

I've Got To Tell This!
by snowbird inone of the police officers here is a transplanted new yorker who was raised as a jw by his g'ma.. he and i talk a lot about his jw experience, his g'ma, and his children (boy age 18, girl age 11).. his kids are both talented athletes (tennis) and the son won a tennis scholarship to university.
he hopes the daughter will follow in her brother's footsteps.. mr. officer mentioned that one saturday, after a particularly strenuous workout, he gave his daughter a bottle of red gatorade to drink.
he said she resisted drinking it at first, but he put his foot down and made her do it.. well, come sunday, he got an urgent message at work that he was to call home immediately.

Oh goodness, that was sad and funny.
I recall my best friend who was also 2 days younger than I got ours the same time.
So we sat in the park and prayed to the dear Lord to take it away. (assembly was next month and we did not want that to happen. Funny as it was, we did not get it and we thought dear Jeehober had answered all our prayers.

Beautiful kitties!
Makes me want to run out and buy one...but that is not a good idea. We have one cat and I am not sure how it stays about!
Recently the neighbor girl got bit by it. I am sure it was all a mishap, but I had to put my cat in for quarantine for 10 days, renew his rabie shots and well, at the end of it all the cat goes and plays with the little girl just like ever. I am so happy she is OK, and at the same time, I am not about to get another one and open the door to such messes.
Really wish I had a pretty baby kitty to hold.
It is great you do!!
Maybe I will just borrow someones to hold!

by OUTLAW in..i`ve watched jehovah`s witness`s live and die for decades..they really seem to have a lack of appreciation,for the limited time they have on this earth.....and..why should`nt they?..jehovah`s witness`s are going to live forever!.....there`s no rush to do anything.except to get to the next meeting,assembly or get out in the field service.....celebrations of almost any kind are avoided..excelling at anything is discouraged..a death in the congregation is no big deal.that person will be resurrected.....jehovah`s witness`s don`t have a hunger for life,because they`re stuck with it!..there`s no way out,unless you stop being a jw..if you stop being a jw,you loose your family and friends!..so basically,jehovah`s witness`s are stuck with living forever!..lol!

I sooo do. Instead of some fabricated hope for a life to come later...I now love every minute. Even if that minute is bad, I am in it. It is "now" and I try my best to experience it all.
I find I am much more interested in life and people and now with time under my belt by being gone so long from the jw;s...I find forgiveness and help and authentic people that I am looking for. People I never expected existed outsides the prison walls of the jw's.
I wish you all the same.
Be careful there is a catch. What you do matters. What you pursue matters. It will all be here long before some doomsday Big A.

i need to let you know that dad passed away this morning at 8am.
he fought so hard but in the end they could not get his blood pressure to rise and he died of heart failure.

When I first started reading what Ian wrote, I was very impressed by the love in your family. As he progressed on his journey, I saw the love flow within the board. There was one thing we all have wished for him and his family. It resounded through everything. That was for his health and for his family to make it through this.
He has continues his journey without us and we wish him well no matter what it is or if it is....but the love still remains and I hope it helps his family still through this terrible loss. I send my best wishes to you all. Decki

Really, I try to avoid these threads now. For as many people are paired here, there are a lot that are not. It always makes a discussion board a bit difficult as life turns and we all meet. Suddenly as happy as we are for one, we are just as sad for the others. So...With that said from one silly gal who went through the paired off and so on...to not...

What was your favorite summer movie of 2008?
by gaiagirl inmine was "indiana jones and the kingdom of the crystal skull".
it was great seeing indy again after 19 years, and he still has the right stuff.
