there were gasps after watching this.

i heard the anti college talks at the dc this year, and while many people i know didnt agree with them, this following video stunned many of them.

there are many people on this forum, many have gotten to where they are many different ways.

And here I'm pushing my son (at age 9) to get good grades so he can get into a great college...I'm such a horrible mother.

This is just sick. I actually posted this video into my discussion group for college. We are talking about "how committed are we getting our degree".

Can you imagine all those young minds being pressured to "drop out".

If you are currently going to college, why don’t you meditate in prayer on the possibility of dropping out and doing something better?

This is the line that caused my blood to boil!!! My brother was thinking about going to college but if my parents hear this it will be over for him. I know when I graduated from high school I wanted to go to college but was not permitted.

I think you're right oompa. It's nice to get out of the real world from time to time and get into another world that is so much different than what we actually live.

A stranger brings a box to a couple. In it is $$$. If they open the box, somebody they don't know, will die.

Oh, I remember that...I remember the guy that brought the box telling them of "fortune and fame"...but once they did their wish, someone would die that night. Then he returns and they knew their lives was in the fate of a stranger.

I was never allowed to watch The Twilight Zone at home. I couldn't even watch Casper.

Same here...though I'd sneak and do it anyway when I had the chance..yeah, I was a little rebellious... LOL

I really like the old man actor with the dog. He finally blows ol Saton off....and is met by the real Peter who says the dog is welcom.................................oompa

Me too oompa. He wasn't about to leave his ol' friend alone. That was a "good ending" one which I think was rare for Twilight Zone. Still made you think for a moment...heehee

I remember watching these shows for hours at my Aunts house...

They come on the Sci. Fiction channel from time to time even now. Last Halloween, they had a marathon of Twilight Zone which I watched way too many...LOL

Too bad I don't have DVR because then I could have recorded them...oh well.

The "shunning" one is called The Invisible Man

Cotter Smith is Mitchell Chaplin, a man living in a parallel world to ours, who has committed the crime of coldness . According to the state, he is to be rendered "invisible" for one year, signified by a scarring implant placed on his forehead. What seems like a welcome chance to be left alone becomes a lesson in humility , as misfortune after misfortune befalls him and he can't even get medical care; despite his attempts to conceal it, the implant warns others to ignore him, lest the hovering spy drones that monitor their society find out.
Shortly after the end of his sentence, Chaplin is accosted in public by a young woman with the mark. Knowing the law, he starts to ignore her, but her cries get through to him and he refuses to do so any longer, even as the drones discover them. He knows he'll be sentenced to another year of invisibility, but this time he'll wear it as a badge of honor.
In the original short story, the criminal is never named, and his one-year sentence was noted to begin on May 11, 2104. In addition, the gender of the criminal's friend was changed from a man in the original story to a woman in the televised version.

I thought of the DF'ed ones even way back when I seen this as a kid...LOL

There was another I like where the guy (tony curtis?) has everything he could ever dream of, money, babes, booze....but somehow he was not in heaven.........he was in hell.......................................oompa

oompa, you just reminded me of another one. I believe it's from the Twilight shows.

It's where a man had died and was at the "Golden Gates" to get into heaven but they wouldn't let him in because his dog wasn't allowed in. He refused to go in without his dog and it turned out to be hell. Anyone remember that one? Edit to make a bit more sense...lol

"The Obsolete Man", which starred Burgess Meredith as a librarian sentenced to execution because the government had declared him obsolete.

Is that the one where he was sentenced to execution over and over because of some time loop he was in?
