FF, I'm curious what school you attend.
It's University of Phoenix.
They haven't been too bad and their programs are great but sometimes you get instructors that are either over worked or not ready to be an instructor. Apparently, from what my academic counselor has told me, they are having problems keeping instructors and the turnover is very high which is causing a hardship in training new instructors.

Sad thing, this is an online class. Some instructors are tougher than others. The "scheduling" is more on my terms (with conditions) but the grading, I feel, is more strict than in a traditional setting. Instructors can't (by regulations) curve a grade...though I have had a few do it anyway...LOL
Couple of points here. Some instructors like to be contacted in certain ways. Many do not like calls at home, and you can't blaim them. If he didn't return your call for three days, you might have been annoying him.
Nope, not that because he does have to answer between the times (which that's what I did) that we are able to call. Since this is an online school, they have "office hours" where we can call (and instructors are suppose to be there) for help. If he got annoyed and this was his problem, then he should get into another job and not instruct an online course.
I think the reason he missed my email was because he told me he's working with 2 classes, mine and a psychology class that is one level below and he over looked it. Still, I'm not sure how he would have missed my calls.
When talking with him, it sounded as if he had no clue to what was being taught, or what he was doing. Maybe he's new at this because the school has been changing a lot lately because apparently there have been instructors that had to be let go.
so, the long awaited trip began for my son and i to return to the same place he heard a bigfoot a year ago in the forests of northern california.
the trip started out unfortunately for us to be a 7 mile hike instead of a 2 to 3 mile hike in to our base camp , as huge snow drifts covered the road , making it even inaccessible for 4 wheel drive, so , with packs on backs we hiked over 50 ft long snow drifts on places on the trail.
even snow was covering one creek near the lake we were destined for .
That's a freakin' big footprint. Too bad you didn't have a plaster kit or something and be able to get it casted.

Another proofreading tip: read the assignment backward - you'll be looking at the words one at a time and will be able to see any spelling errors that you may have missed on previous reads.

Now, I didn't see anywhere (I'm still looking the site over) on how you're supposed to write "Reference/s". I know you're suppose to center it but is it "References:" with a colon or is it "References" without the colon?

I just found out, I normally send in assignments to the Center of Writing Excellence (CWE) which checks my paper and comes back with not too many mistakes. I thought it was OWL but after seeing the link you sent, it was so different.

I think you nailed it right there. I didn't try to kiss up with this class and I'm seeing a big difference..lol. I have never written it but I did thought (first time when I entered his class) "what an arrogant jack a**". He does have a Phd in psychology and he may have been able to "read" me without me saying a word. He IS arrogant, and he comes off as he's better but next time when I'm faced with people like this I'll try to control even my thoughts.
I'll know next time to be careful with what I think...LOL Oh well.

Maybe that's what your tutor is trying to do with you - maybe he knows you can do even better so he's pushing you -
Hmmm, I hadn't really thought of it like that. I know that for the most part (as long as I take my time and reread) my papers come out perfect. I've been told I write very well by other instructors and they have been impressed. Oh, and I know what you mean about "had not instead of hadn't, or are not instead of aren't" but if I do accidentally put those in, OWL catches it. It's rare I use that in my papers anyway. It's the dang punctuation especially for the reference papers that get me into trouble.
I would advise you the accept the criticism in a spirit of goodwill. You may be surprised at the outcome.
I will try to accept it...I just hate REALLY hate my grade being so low...that is NOT me.
