My jw parent got baptized in 1974 and told me (a young child) if I went to the hall with her I would be in paradise with a pet lion in Autumn 1975, so I wouldn't miss out on Christmas at all, because Christmas wouldn't exist. -

Why isn't demon possession a DF offense?
by rebel8 inlet's review: it's a cult!.
allrighty--got thinking about it in this thread.
isn't it odd that, of all things, that isn't on the list of df offenses?

^I have no idea what that means.

I could get dfd for allowing a man to put his private parts inside my body but not for allowing an entire demon to enter my entire body. -

I think I'm going to call up the local cong and tell them I'm a baptized dub who deliberately invited the demons into my body, I'm not repentant, I'm not going to DA myself and I'm going to start attending meetings. -

Let me get this out of the way for you. Let's review: It's a cult!
Allrighty--got thinking about it in this thread. Isn't it odd that, of all things, that isn't on the list of DF offenses? Seriously.
People get DFd for getting raped if they don't scream. Is there an "I screamed" loophole for demon possession?
Does it require 2 witnesses?
What is the issue?
I think I'd like to be DFd for demon possession right now. How would I go about making that happen? I do not want to be considered DAd. No, I'd like them to kick me out for full-on, frothing at the mouth, used Tupperware owning, send the hogs off a cliff, old school demon possession.

The Loyalty Question
by choosing life inhow many here have been asked the loyalty question by an elder.
i am referring to, "do you believe that jehovah is using the faithful and discreet slave class to accomplish his work?
" or something along this line?.

It was a long time ago, but as I remember it, they asked me something along those lines and if I believed it was the truth. I think I said I don't know, which was true at the time. All I knew at that moment was I wanted nothing to do with jws ever again, even if it meant I'd be a lightning rod at Armageddon, I wanted nothing to do with those horrible people.
As far as I know, I was never DAd or DFd. There was some discussion, I think, that if I ever decided to associate with dubs in the future, action could be taken if I was not following the dub rules.
I am not positive what my status is. I know I'm partially shunned--unfortunately, some have tried to speak to me over the years. ;) And I've been told that I'm possessed by demons.
Of all infractions leading to DFing, you'd think being possessed by demons would be one of them. Weird.

Sheep who mate in front of stripey trees will produce stripey offspring
by purrpurr ingenesis 30:37 leaving aside the whole "joseph cheats laham out of his flock" issue.
one passage of scripture that i've missed until now is 30:37 where it says how joseph got all the sheep to be stripey etc ( btw have you ever seen a stripey sheep?
cos i certainly haven't!).

Awesome find! It's more evidence the bible is not inspired of a creator or knowledgeable god. -

Is it possible he has a low literacy level?
Again, apologies--this is not the main purpose of the thread. It just has me curious.
If that's it, it might be pertinent. He leads a multi-billion dollar international publishing corporation.

Death is not something to be feared!
by iconoclastic inscience can explain how of things, but it cannot explain why of certain things (for example, why did life arise from non-life and evolved from simpler creatures to more complex life forms only to die and disappear?
) so are the conflicted religions whose chief concern is in safeguarding each ones separate identity..
next option is to look for pearls among the stonesusing power of our own reason.

Why is only Carl Sagan singled out?
Because Carl Sagan was misquoted in the OP. In fact, his statement in this thread was misconstrued in exactly the same way the wts misconstrued his statements in their litteratrash. He clearly was saying there is no afterlife and the cherry picked sentence quoted here, out of context, implied he was stating the opposite.
Why does no one touch Abraham Linclon, Shakespeare, Will Durant?
Of that list, I'm most familiar with Sagan's works, so I knew right off the bat that the OP claim that Sagan believed in an afterlife was incorrect. Were the others you listed misquoted as well?

I hope the victims get money and counseling.
I hope the borganization is penalized in a way that punishes and reforms them.
We can remember it as the day Caesar kept Jehovah's Organization clean(TM).
