berry is right--you have an awesome opportunity to compose and send the letter together.
Take your time and be sure he totally agrees with what's in the letter. You don't want him going all Jezebel on you once the backlash comes.

by Sour Grapes inlast sunday i visited a hall to see a friend.
the brother giving the talk spent the first 20 minutes talking about how bad the world is and then the next 10 minutes he pointed out how god's kingdom is the answer.
one thing he mentioned is all of the millions of starving children in the world and how the money that we spend on just a few bombs that are dropped in the wars could feed thousands of children.

I just found out that my youngest brother committed suicide
by SnakesInTheTower inmy middle brother called me a couple of hours ago.
our youngest brother, josh, who was 38, was found by his friends in his apartment.
he hung himself.

Shock is understandable.
Your feelings will come, and they will probably be mixed--sadness, horror, anger, and maybe eventually relief that he is no longer suffering. These are all ok things to feel.
He probably just wanted to be free of the pain, and now he is.

Claiming a young girl took birth control pills for a hormonal problem and grew a penis. This was a specific girl. I can imagine few more hateful rumors to start. Then they said she fell away and became a prostitute because the pill made her sex crazed.
Announcing that 13-year old unbaptized kids committed immorality, and giving their names in the announcement.
Telling me, as a 10-year-old, that I was "damaged goods, like a rape victim" because I had been given transfusions before becoming a jw. Stating I would never be clean from it unless I died and was resurrected. Stating I would probably never find any jw male willing to be my husband because I was damaged in this way.
Sickos.

by thewalker inhi, i just joined the board and wanted to present myself.. i'm active, in fact very active in congregation activities serving "where the need is great" in a foreign language congregation somewhere in western europe.
as a young brother, i'm seen as an example as i'm doing all a good witness should do.. i had doubts years ago but i decided just to ignore them and move to another congregation to preach more.
that worked for some years but i'm now at the exact same point.

I see some were saying wts won’t change from mass disassociation. Even if that is true, the publicity would further reduce the social acceptability of being a jw, therefore restricting its growth. That seems worthwhile IMO.
I suggested a simultaneous Twitter campaign using the same hashtags to create a buzz. Everyone could do it within the same 24-hour period.
Is anyone doing the mass letters?

Humans are not wired to want the truth

Within the last few years, I re-examined by beliefs about alt med and GMOs. It was hard to do--I had to seek out legitimate publications and look at evidence as a body instead of anecdotes. It was also a little humiliating to learn that my beliefs were bunk, one by one.
It takes courage and effort to understand real science.
It takes no effort to believe quackery.
I can tell you this: It's worthwhile. Free yourself from the vestiges of jw science denying. It's exhilarating.
Vaccines--this is probably the best, most effective scientific advancement of our time. Overwhelming evidence is freely available proving safety. And most people can get their vaccines at no charge. Yet people are refusing this fabulous technology in favor of believing woo and conspiracy theories. So sad.
With a few clicks on sites like Google Scholar, NIH, or sciencebasedmedicine.org, you can find the truth about why there is an increase in the # of autism cases diagnosed, why girls are going into puberty younger, etc. These are not unknowns.
