This lends more credence to the rumor that they hired a PR team.

Baptism Nullification Letter Template
The above template includes official notification that they could be arrested if they make contact in any fashion.
There are no guarantees with any course of action because the org makes, changes and ignores the rules whenever they wish.

Hotel California
by Normalfulla ingrowing up was ok being a jw or so i thought, i guess u accept life as it comes when yr a kid , anyhow i played guitar and my elder dad (who is currently df) would forbid me to learn hotel california or even if it came on the radio he would run and quickly turn it off , .
he explained he had heard a tape recording at work that explained that this song along with stairway to heaven and others had back masking on it and when played backwards would say stuff like "satan has his own congregation " or other stuff like that , now this was not a jw sanctioned audio talk just some other christian production .. none of dad's other peers felt the same and growing up it illustrated to me dad's propensity to be influenced and convinced about something seemingly innocuous to others.. fast forward to a year or so ago and i showed him a section from the eagles documentary where don henley talks about the meaning of hotel california and how much trouble christian evangelists gave the song due to their own interpretation etc , so completely refuted the claims my father had told me were fact as a kid ,from the horses mouth so to speak .
his answer was ,"well of course he'd say that he wants to save face ,he wouldn't admit the truth !".

It's not even logical at face value. How could our brain interpret backwards masking when it was not being played backwards?
It was always a friend of a friend of a friend who managed to play records and cassettes backwards. Nobody could ever reproduce it in front of me.

DA myself to relieve great pressure?
by Isambard Crater inmy lifelong mental illnesses, fuelled significantly by the borg, are very bad at the moment and result in me missing lots of midweek meetings, but i haven't missed a sunday in years except the occasional vacation.. the nature of my mental and emotional illnesses mean that i, as a physically in and mentally out pimo, take to heart very painfully admonishment from the platform to never miss meetings, preach all i can, and so on.. okay, i report 3 hours each month on average and no elder has ever said anything, but when they make comments on the platform, i feel such great guilt and shame, but also anger, as they do not understand my illnesses and when i do mention my situation to elders, they kind of minimise and joke about it.. some other sisters in my congregation started "officially" not attending midweek meetings a few year's ago because of their own health circumstances, but i know for a fact that some elders look down on them for this reason, not showing real understanding deep down even if they do on the surface.. i have reached the point where i want to hand in a da letter as a cry for help, or more like a clear indicator to them that when i say i'm not well enough to attend midweek, i really mean it and it's not just an excuse.
sure, i'm only 42, but i can still be too fragile to go out at night with a 30 minute drive both ways..

DA is playing by their rules. This has the same outcome but does not follow their rules. A small difference, you may say, but think of it as asserting your freedom from their silly rules.
what I want is for them to outwardly say that if I feel the best I can give means missing midweek meetings til I feel a bit better, that's "ok" as long as I listen on the phone system or something.
Trying to get your emotional needs met by people who are emotionally unavailable, immature and have a sick power balance with you is a bad idea.

The denial of 1975 when and how did they go about it.
by Crazyguy ini was pretty young in 1975, all i remember was a few complaining at the hall after and those at the door that razed us over it.
does anyone remember how they went about denying it and when this started.
i do remember a scripture in psalms about people being mighty and living longer so this was used.

What I recall is them doing the same thing they have done throughout history--barely say, "Oops," blame it on the flock for misinterpreting, and start on the next prediction. Just research the false predictions they had in the 1800s forward and a pattern emerges.
I just remembered some dumbasses in 1976 saying it was the King of the South's* bicentennial year that was being celebrated--wouldn't it be fitting if jehoopla struck down their pride with Armageddon?
So basically they just moved on to the next date to look forward when billions would be executed and their bodies would be eaten by birds.
*sorry if I've got that wrong--I don't remember my kings, just that giant statue with the crossed arms and crumbling feet lol

Do you think the general public cares about former Jehovah's witnesses?
by Christian Gutierrez ini was wondering if you guys think if the general public cares about our stories or if they even care what the watchtower does to people??
?.

Complacency paves the way for cults to be maintained and grow because the general public is the target audience for growth.
The best way to make the public care is, unfortunately, gory stories that have a main character they can relate to.
Most people don't care much about run-of-the-mill stories. To them, it sounds like, "I voluntarily joined this weird group and it took me years to realize they were weird. I believed dumb stuff that, on the surface, are obvious lies. I voluntarily stopped doing normal life stuff like Christmas and dating. When I realized all of this was weird, they started to be mean to me and now my friends don't talk to me anymore."
Or gory stories like mine--they just can't relate to it, shrug their shoulders and move on.

"We dont mourn the dead"
by HereIgo ini remember a brother making the above statement in regards to an elderly sister who had passed.
he stated we don't mourn or even visit grave sites because we have a hope that jah will resurrect the dead.
it seemed really creepy at the time, hell, even jesus wept when lazarus died.
-

No but they are super creepy about death, like sociopath creepy.
Think about those cold, uncaring recruitment sessions they call funerals.
I remember being taught that being too sad when someone died meant you lacked faith.
