  some time ago i used to work at a hospital.

  when my family members would receive treatment at this place, often times they would ask me if i could look up information for them regarding their health.

  i always had to tell them that privacy laws did not allow me to bypass the hospital's administration.

Answer: Yes...Even when, due to emergency treatment circumstances or incapacity, the patient has not been provided an opportunity to express his or her preference

  Please see the above link for an explanation of the HIPAA laws and rules.

  Anything outside of the above would fall into a separate part of the rule, like a healthcare POA, etc.

  LOL, that was an entertaining article, from "making the office building great again" to "Watchtower is the name of the church's newsletter".

  Refusing comment about whether they will remove the wt sign. LOL. Of course they will. They just don't want to let people see how great the new space is before they announce that. People have been known to get up in arms when "iconic" signs are removed.

  Shaklee and Long Distance Telephone Plans

  i just had a random recall about jws and what they used to peddle.. in my area of pennsylvania (usa), there was a brother who used to be the shaklee dealer.. there was also a brother who owned his own landscaping company and sold long distance phone plans.

  in fact, i remember 3 brothers who sold lond distance plans.. did anyone else experience these products or others?

  Shaklee, definitely. It was a big thing among dubs because they didn't trust evidence-based medicine.

  Shaklee became a substitute for real medical care for me for a while, with near deadly results.

  the blame for mankind's sicknesses/diseases and consequent death has been placed squarely on the shoulders of adam:.

  romans 5:12, 17 - 19:"therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned—for if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man.......consequently, just as one trespass resulted in condemnation for all people........for just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners........".

  It could have been all the inbreeding between Cain and his sister, and between their children, and between their cousins. LOL

  Why take it personally?

  a random thought occurred to me today.. i actually feel genuinely sorry for witnesses who cut contact with ones they feel are no longer "spiritual" .. they do this based not on anything that the person has actually done to them personally, but due to an imposed view from the society.. it must play havoc with their inner conscience as they try and reconcile that the person they cut off has not actually done anything to harm them, but they have to view them as evil.. it reminded me of this thread i started some time back.

  In life, we cut ties with those we think are toxic to us but maybe not in an extreme way like the jobos do.

  Yes, I get it, the leaders are responsible for manipulating people. They have a lot of guilt.

  But there is personal responsibility too.Because of the psychological manipulation, good people do bad things, but if they are truly good and strong, they will eventually do the right thing. IMHO.

  I was physically abused for disobedience to the cult many times, and financially abused to the point of having no escape, and psychologically manipulated from childhood on.

  But I did let myself acknowledge that goodness and truth have nothing to fear from exposure to other views.

  I shun toxic people to this very day, and there is nothing wrong with that.

  The difference between me and dubs is that I have an honest definition of "toxic" now. It took a ton of courage and risk to figure it out on my own and escape from the situation that required me to shun the wrong people.

  Come to think of it, I have never had an opportunity to apologize for shunning anybody. I am very sorry.

  WTBS of Brooklyn is there, as are many assembly halls and congregations.
