  what is the WTS position on circumcision of men in their organization?

  Let's start a rumor.

  In the New System, there will be a Latter Gentile Class. Foreskins will grow back gradually, proportionate to how perfect the man has become.

  When Satan is let out after the 1000 years, he will be allowed to win permanent freedom if he can bring jehovah 3000 foreskins, breaded and deep fried, with a side of ranch dressing.

  And to anyone who is reading this: If you are telling yourself this is ridiculous, consider the fact that it is not more ridiculous than what the bible actually says.

  I really hate the word "ones".

  necessary as it is at times, i hate this word.

  for one thing, "ones" is a plural form of the number 1. that is dumb, and it's reason enough to avoid it where it isn't entirely necessary.. one could argue that it never is necessary, but it can still come up in colloquial dialogue when discussing objects.

  jw leaders use it to discuss people.. interestingly, jws even did this to jesus christ in their own translation of the bible, referring to him in ephesians 1:7 with "through the blood of that one" where another translation would say something like "through his blood".

  Point 1: Why the S & M stuff with foreskins?

  What did they do with all those foreskins anyway? Make patchwork leather coats? Bread and fry them like pig's ears?

  This blog has an interesting article:

  At a camping place on the way to Egypt, the LORD met Moses and tried to kill him. Then Zipporah, his wife, took a sharp stone, cut off the foreskin of her son, and touched Moses' feet with it. Because of the rite of circumcision she said to Moses, "You are a husband of blood to me." And so the LORD spared Moses' life.

  That occurred after Yahweh had patiently explained to Moses everything he needed to do when he reached Egypt. Funny, that Yahweh didn't also tell Moses that his son needed to be circumcised. On their way to Egypt, however, Yahweh comes within a hair's breadth of terminating Moses' career over that little misunderstanding.

  Thoughts on African Americans and Slavery

  let's start by saying that slavery is of course a terrible thing, one of the worst crimes imaginable, and that "slavery" rarely implies good treatment, anything noble or defensible.

  nowadays, even god doesn't escape judgement from our enlightened views with passages about slavery in the bible usually glossed over because they are shameful.. but not all slavery was equal.. because of the media, movie industry, racial tensions in the us regularly shown on the news and our taught history, i think most people's knowledge and idea of slavery is that of the north atlantic slave trade where white people took africans to work in cotton fields.

  this idea is probably also re-enforced because the largest group of descendents of slaves we see today are african americans (usually in the us or places they subsequently migrated to).. but it's incomplete.. it's only when you look into it more that you discover that there was much more to the slave trade than that, otherwise it would have been just called "the slave trade" and not "the north atlantic slave trade".. some 12.5 million slaves were taken from africa to the us with just under 11 million surviving the trip so it obviously took a terrible toll immediately, even before any maltreatment once they landed in the americas where conditions and treatment were truly awful.

  Amazing new graph - publisher increase compared to country population increase rates

  world population growth rate is 1.13%, whilst jehovah's witness average publishers grew by 1.8%.

  watchtower growth is outpacing population growth, though at a dismal rate considering the 2 billion hours of preaching required for an increase of just 115,194. this is an aggregate number, and most growth is from developing nations in africa and south america.

  what i was really interested in finding is how watchtower growth compares to the population growth in different countries.

  Cool.

  So to stop this deadly cult, we just need to slip birth control into the KH water fountains, and sprinkle it on the cheese danishes at the conventions.

  Or create our own video with the j w dot org logo on it that says reproduction is banned because these are the End Times.

  I remember a study saying, "I have never seen so much social activity focused on food. I mean, you can't dance, you can't listen to music...so boring. All that's left is eating. And every jw get-together is an enormous buffet of fattening food."
