  i was molested by my grandfather from the age of 3 to 7. he was also molesting his daughter (my aunt) and maybe others.

  it was covered over and my entire family was actually shunned when we went to the elders when i was 18. i did not tell anyone about it until then because my grandfather had me believing our relationship was special and it was our little secret.. when confronted, he of course denied it.

  my mother even spoke up of a time when he had tried to molest her when she was 8 months pregnant with one of my brothers.

  Ashton.That is so sad - child molesters are usually trusted people (eg relatives) who carefully 'groom' their 'victim' first. In cases like this, it seems more tragic as the MOLESTER is doubly trusted (picked by no less than GOD HIMSELF).

  I was told, as a youngster, (when I questioned that there MUST be bad people in 'The Truth' - human nature being what it is), that Jehovah soon brings it to light and rids the Congregation of sinners. Keeping the Congreagation 'clean'. I beg to differ. If I could see a child being molested I would act IMMEDIATELY, and I wonder why Jehovah allows this to go unnoticed in HIS Organisation for so long.

  Kay - sorry to hear that you had to experience this too (was he a JW?)- I think it is far more widespread than we think.

  major shock i know.. i called mom back and told her she better get her facts straight.

  telling people that someone abandoned their own children is a very serious accusation.

  Just got back from the 2004-2005 circuit assembly here are a few thoughts.

  upon arriving i ran into lots of old friends and really enjoyed seeing everyone and visiting.

  they dont know that im currently struggling with doubts about the organization and they think that im the same old zealous brother.

  i couldnt help but feel a sence of guilt visiting with them about our current number of publishers and how many we had pioneering ect.

  Welcome Italiana - and I think urban legends work a treat with the gullible (and sadly, the elderly) - I saw the ''cruise ship'' one on here last week - wasn't aware of it prior to then.

  Vigil for my daughter, please.

  as mentioned in my other thread, my daughter lena is having brainsurgery on monday, jan 24. the surgery will last 6-7 hours, so i'm hoping the board members will be willing to make a special effort tomorrow to send positive thoughts, healing energy, good wishes and prayers her way.

  we are asking that the surgeon's hands be delicate and skillful and that lena does not bleed overmuch and that brain damage be minimal (if not non-existant).

  surgery begins at 8 am eastern standard time (us), but we have to have her to the hospital by 6 am, so this is "good night!

  was reading on here this morning about wtbts and their copyrighting (and rightly so - after all, no one else would want to take credit for this crap) their publications.....and i got to thinking (yes, i know i shouldn't, but am allowed to now) what about using quotes from the nwt ????

Was reading on here this morning about WTBTS and their copyrighting (and rightly so - after all, no one else would want to take credit for this crap) their publications.....and I got to thinking (yes, I KNOW I shouldn't, but am allowed to now) what about using quotes from the NWT ???? Is it WATCHTOWER copyrighted (is that a word?) OR is it the Word of God? eeeeek, put me out of my misery!
