james cameron -- the guy who directed "avatar" -- directed a few choice words at an autograph seeking fan last night -- calling the guy a "f**king a**hole" during an argument over a signature.

it all went down at lax -- when james walked past a man holding an "avatar" poster, and refused to sign.

The guy was an asshole because he didn't understand no means no. Granted Cameron may have been less than polite but who knows what else is going on for him at that moment. There are times when people in the film industry are HUMAN and will react as humans do. Not to mention the signature on that poster would make it sellable, if the guy wanted a personal autograph and it wasn't such a set up he might have gotten it. Just because you work in film and are successful at it doesn't entitle the public to intrude into your personal space any more than it should allow witnesses to harass people in the same situation to talk about the Watchtower.

The fans don't make someone successful, the QUALITY of the work CREATES fans who get absolutely everything they are entitled to when they walk out of a theatre happy, and get a bonus if it was good enough to see over and over again. It's flattering to get the attention from the public, but it can become very tiresome as an individual when the public treats you as if they are entitled to more no matter how you feel about it.

I only work behind the scenes and very rarely in front of the camera so I don't even get a real taste of it except for when I'm out with the crew or an actor/actress. I've seen what they have to deal with and you can't really understand what may have happened until you are in the situation.

Every job is easy to the people who aren't doing it.

Climate Change (nee Global Warming) Strkes Again!!

the mid-atlantic states were completely white on sunday, december 20, 2009, in the wake of a record-breaking snow storm.

the storm deposited between 12 and 30 inches of snow in virginia, maryland, and washington, d.c. on december 19, according to the national weather service.

for many locations, the snowfall totals broke records for the most snow to fall in a single december day.. the moderate resolution imaging spectroradiometer (modis) on nasas aqua satellite captured this view of the chesapeake bay region as the clouds were clearing on december 20. the snow highlights the courses of the potomac and susquehanna rivers from the appalachian mountains to the chesapeake bay.

We usually get 300 inches of snow per year, over half of it by now. We're at 36. Take a few more minutes to think about the jet stream and how polar air moves, the snow shifted east and overall there is less of it. If you research the theory of global warming you will see the shift was predicted as part of the evidence of warming, not only are the warm times warmer, the cold times are shorter and more intense.

Presonally I think we are in a natural cycle of warm weather and it will reverse pretty soon (5-10 years) with an equally notable cold swing for a few decades... as it has since the beginning of recorded time.

We can spend lifetimes arguing "what ifs" about situations that will never exist.

This one is a great example. But yep... totally worth it. No way I'd want to live on a planet filled with nothing but witnesses.

Do You Accept ALL Of The Bible As Being 100% Truth?

Reconciliation of the world through Christ. The world has to be reconciled because it is full of sin, which can be traced all the way back to Adam and Eve who committed the first sin by doing something evil, which was doing something God told them not to do. But they didn't know the difference between good and evil so maybe they didn't know they were sinning by doing what God told them not to do. But ignorance is no excuse.

So really this whole redemption thing and all the people suffering and getting killed by others or getting killed because God let them die could have been avoided if God had just let them eat the fruit before he told them what not to do? Since he didn't do it that way, God had to send another man (which was born from an "imperfect" woman) to come get nailed up to some wood to "pay" for everyone else's bad thoughts and deeds so he wouldn't have to let mankind die from wars or famine or from old age? But that man wasn't really just a man like Adam, but a man created partially from an Angel? Is that an overpayment? Do we get a credit? Who keeps the balance sheet on this anyway and since when does God have to do anything to maintain the "balance"?

The lessons are real, but anecdotes are anecdotes and attempts to turn them into real facts always seem to lead to more judgement, entitlement, and misery.

The truth is according to popular Christian belief, Gods grand plan was screwed up by his own creations and in order to satisfy some sense of justice no one can clearly outline, forced and is forcing the rest of his creations to suffer for thousands of years as he goes back and forth with something else he created (Satan) about which of us is going to live after God does the most killing he's done since he started with killing the original First Couple. Oh, and Jesus is involved too because he's had to die a couple of times, too.

Makes total sense.

"It isn't possible for there to be such a scripture as 'The Bible' would have had to have been compiled prior to the scripture being written."

It exists, basically says to read the scriptures and form your own understanding, not allowing other people to create an interpretation for us...just can't remember exactly where it is.

i was never thrilled to have a meeting during inclement weather.

if it was seriously snowing and the weatherman suggested to stay in because of the conditions, i rarely went to the meeting.

why take a chance, right?

i have asked myself that question many time over the past couple of years.

i started smoking pot when i moved to a state that allows it.

I haven't written one of these in a really long time. I have asked myself that question many time over the past couple of years. I started smoking pot when I moved to a state that allows it. It felt way better than being sober and became a daily ritual, over time. I'm not going into long details but will just skip to the deal-breaker in a few sentences.

I don't think the whole exit from the witnesses created as much stress as the subsequent antisocial and reclusive attitude I developed afterwards. It's really hard for me to process an environment where there are a lot of people, I pretty much can't deal with it. I also hate being alone, so there has always been this rub. Smoking pot made it much more tolerable to be alone, which meant I became even more antisocial. Antisocial was fine since I was self employed, and could pretty much do whatever I wanted when I wanted.

So about a year ago I got into the film industry, working in special effects. The people I'm around are all artsy and weird in their own rights, a lot like I am in the weird department, so no problem with the group setting. And, honestly, I'd say over half of the people in the industry I have met smoke pot daily or drink every night after work...not one or two drinks, but like 4-5. With the acceptance of these things it wasn't long before I was on the same "dosage" schedule. My specialty is supposed to be pyrotechnics and explosives, not too long ago I had a misfire, a charge was set off early. No one was in danger or anything like that, but it was a stupid mistake that I still can't believe I made. It caught my attention and made me evaluate myself.

I realized that I was having trouble communicating as well as processing and retaining information. I went back and watched some old footage and saw what this guy who looked like me was doing, seemed ok on the surface, but not nearly as sharp as I remember being. Words were misplaced, short term memory was obviously tweaked, and problem solving skills were way below normal. So for the last couple of weeks I've pretty much stopped everything. Had a few drinks here and there but nothing else, but already the memory thing is getting way better and my speech and patience levels are closer to normal.

So how long does it take to dry out, so to speak? What do you do to keep from relapsing? Don't say AA or Narc Anon because I couldn't do either if I wanted to due to traveling and time required by work, plus I don't like the religious elements.
