men must have short hair in the org.. does this mean that sisters can have their hair as long as they want?.

I love long hair too, but can you imagine having to wash that mess? It'd take a whole bottle of shampoo! Plus it gives women headaches i hear... ofcourse what doesnt!!! :P

its a very slow stream from quicktime so i would just let it sit in the background.. even though it doesnt look like its downloading, it is.

this isnt the official video (hasn't been released yet) - its the guys rehearsing with the actual good quality tune overdubbed.

now, last summer, a bunch of ladybugs decided to move in with me.

there's a lot of new ones here and they might not be familiar with the fact that not everyone is truthful or necessarily looking out for your best interests.....is there any thing a "newbie" or for that matter any of us should keep in mind while on the internet?

A 1914 generation question

i was around in 1995, barely, but i dont remember any talks or articles where the new light about the generation of 1914. did they change w/o coming right out and saying so,or was there a talk.

especially in regards to the mission statement or whatever in the awake, did they make an announcement or did they just hope no one would notice?

i just cant believe that there wasnt a mass exodus after that, my family never mentioned the change to me, i didnt even know til years later on this site.

Do a wtlib search for "1914" and "generation".

Before 1995 you get dozens of hits per year. It was part of the forward in each awake for over a decade. This was a major change. The articles pass it off as an adjustment, when it is a complete reversal. 180 0 change. Now I look around my hall and about 70% of the people there have come in since 1995. If you ask them about the 1914 generation they will look at you with glazed over eyes. Soon there will be few people who even remember it was taught. Then a few years down the road, the Society will stop putting the pre 1995 magazines on the CDROM, and the 1914 generation teaching will become as arcane and forgotten as the kingdom being set up in 1874 teaching is today.

Apostates will then try to show dubs that the society use to teach the 1914/generation doctrine and the dubs will say "No way, thats apostate, they never taught that" and will run away with their eyes closed and fingers in their ears.

at our service meeting the conductor of "more emphasis on the bible!

" (the march kingdom ministry article discussing the monthly awake!

) routinely asked the questions, comments were read from the paragraph and there was a rediculous emphasis on the scriptures cited, even to the point that wt references were given that had nothing to do with the subject.

IP-SEC: do you want to get 'caught'? don't get me wrong, i think what you are doing is brave and admirable just a bit reckless if you are not ready to get outed.

Eh well I chicken'd out. Yes actually part of me wants to be caught, part doesnt. Part of me wants to hang on long enough to see if disfellowshipping will be thrown out with the OD book.

I did say something to the effect that 'what a blessing and how exciting it would be if one day the awake! started to be published quarterly like in some languages' but that was about as brave as I got.
