i was at a john denver concert in the uk many years ago, he asked all catholics to stand up, after he got them seated he did the same with church of england, then the same with a couple of other religions, after he asked all jw's to stand up he announced that the concert would not go on untill they had all left and he then left the stage.

for those of you who dont know what i'm on about it's regarding my post "the john denver issus, vote now" .
having been subjected to 50 yrs of preducial abuse while i was a jw can have a pretty lasting effect towards some of the people who were responsible for dishing it out, you should have been at the concert it made me feel sick.

There were even sone people , although not many, that jeered us as we left.
None the less I shouldn't have said it.

PS. It wasnt the concert following a convention , the concert was at the Odeon in Birmingham in the UK.
Also after 50yrs a JW some habits stick, I don't lie easily.
And considering how many people sent me nice posts saying I will find genuine honest people here, I was surprised as to how many people sent me private messages calling me a liar but they didnt have the guts to put there accusation on a public post, hence my opening coment on the "The John Denver Issus, vote now" post

being from London or not has nothing to do with class. Here in the U.K were always being told that New Yorkers have class yet you have the Bronx, the East End of London would chew the Bronx up and spit it out, Most Londoners are as rough as a dog and proud of it.

Hi none believers,
The Concert was at the Odeon New Street in Birmingham, cant remember the exact date but I think around 1980 give or take.
I can't believe so many of you don't believe eye witness statements considering so many people have confirmed that this happened, how did you ever have the balls to question and then leave the JW's,
Why would I or anyone else make something like this up, read his life story he was far from a "sweet man",

Hi Sixofnine,
Yes I was at the concert, along with half the congregation.
And to clear up another thing that a lot of ex JW's from the states seem to be comenting on. The JW's in Europe are not so tight about that sort of thing. I can recall two other concerts that were virtually congregation trips, with half the elders in the cong and there wives there.
Also on the national anthem thing, don't forget Americans are on the whole a lot more patriotic than most countries. If someone played God save the Queen at a concert in the U.K half the audience would probably jeer them off the stage.

I was at a John Denver concert in the UK many years ago, he asked all Catholics to stand up, after he got them seated he did the same with Church of England, then the same with a couple of other religions, after he asked all JW's to stand up he announced that the concert would not go on untill they had all left and he then left the stage. The next day it hit the headlines in the press. As an ex witness I'm not in love with them myself but that was disgusting. Not only was he a fanatical born again Christian he was a wanker.
To add to that, in the press article it stated that although he did get a few whistles and jeer when he returned he was undetered and walked straight up to the mike and started the concert as though nothing had happened.
A plane crash was too good for him, and was he a wanker, you decide.
How would you feel if you were Black and he said I don't play to Blacks

seeking help
by stopthepain ini have never sought out proffesional help.i guess the way i am is part of that stubborn old school mentality of"i don't need any help".i think i can fight through alot of my feelings.as a raised,insecure,unhappy,negative ex jw child,do members on this forum think someone such as myself should seek psycological help(even if yes,why?
)why can't i fully move on?does just vocalizing these issues help?.
i know the answer,but i'm afraid to deal with it.i guess i'm just having a bad day.i'm glad i have this meesage board .youve all been great,sorry to bother with my pitifull emotions,.

I'v only been using the site for 3 days an I feel better already, I was begining to thing there was somethin wrong with me untill I realised there were others experiancing the same.
Did tou see my post , why I left after 50yrs a JW. I had over 40 genuine messages from here in 2 days, the healing has finally started.
