As I said several post's ago, you seem like a nice kid
Thanks Dave, I have enjoyed our interchange you have encouraged me to continue on. I have learned allot from you. Maybe one day we can trust each other.
lately on this board there has been a couple of threads that show how much the watchtower is being effected by the open communication of the internet and web sites like this one.
they are changing long time policy and trying new ways of getting their religious product to the market.
no longer do their leaders hear the voice of god and then pass it directly on as unwavering guidance to their customers.

So you made the choice between organized crime and god? You don't have the intelligence or depth of character to find some kind of balance in your life between the two? Do you take everything to that extreme? I'll bet it's a real bitch for you just ordering a cup of coffee at Starbucks isn't it.
Dave, many people would say I am extreme in many aspects. I only eat organic vegan food. I try my best not to watch corporate controlled media. I try my best not to watch the vomit we call entertainment that's found at the movie theators. Though I do enjoy a good fereinhight 9/11 or weapons of mass disception once in a while.
By the way I don't drink coffee. It's one of the most abused drugs in the world (caffine).
I feel that if I am to worship God I need to do it whole souled not half or partial. You may call me extreme in that way.

I ate lunch with brother Losch, sat right next to him and spoke to him for an hour and he had no mofia guard members there to protect them. :)
Since you can't trust anything I say and you don't like to be proven wrong, I won't worry about it.

Dave,
Good investigative questions.
1. How old were you when you went from being an evil person that society had to saved from, to an all knowing JW?
I have never become all knowing never will. I became a JW at the age of 18. I knew that either I would serve God or serve myself. Which most likely ment organized crime and things of that nature. I realize though that many people arent criminal personalities like I was. None the less there are many benifits to no longer living or telling the story of "me". If you are wondering what that means you may enjoy reading; http://www.gangaji.org/satsang/library/yat.asp
2. When did you meet face to face with three governing body members, and have an hour lunch with one of them? Who were they (names, places, and time, please) and how did you get meetings with them when we all know how difficult that would be to do?
It would be difficult to meet with them seeing that they are so busy. On the other hand usually one of them go to the conventions and often dedications of the kingdom halls and convention centers. You can find them in the office or ask tell a brother that you would like to talk the visiting gb member. If he is not busy you would most likely be entertained. You can always catch one at a bethel meeting during the lunch period of I believe the saturday sesion. My congregation built a double kingdom hall and Brother Losch was the one that gave the dedication speach. While they are in our 'territory' they are taken care of by us. We take them out to eat, out to 'field service' etc. They are human and have good intentions.
3. You ask me where I get my historical facts. The public library and book stores. Where do you get yours?
Maybe you can re-check your historical facts on the textus receptus.
***For being so unimportant it is amazing to have thousands of people spend so much time talking about us in chat rooms and web forums.*** 4. You made the statement above. Who is "US" the JW'S or your JW co-op? Is the JW co-op considered an apostate group by the JW's and when did you join it and how long have you been in it?
"US" is Jehovah's witnesses seeing that this forum is called Jehovah's witnesses. :)
The JW co-op is not considered an apostate group by JW's because it means merily co-operation amoung JW's. I believe we hold that disunity is apostate. Which happens to be the opposite of co-operation. What the watchtower corporation would label it I do not know. It doesnt really work against or for them so I don't know.
The JW co-op has just started. I am one of the founding members. We have not even defined what a Jehovah's witness is yet so there really is not a so called membership. Yet we do have four Jehovah's witness congregations on the internet. This is a model for things to come. Even then I believe there is the possiblity of making non-JW's members as well. Seeing that non-witnesses can keep us in check and humble. Like yourself.
Your analysis of the watchtower corporation is an example the sort of genius we need.
Give it a year or two after the basics have been defined and we will see something remarkable. There is also some communication technology such as wiki tools and rating forums in the works. Or at least in the dreams.

thanks for your response pole.
Your so welcome and thanks for yours.
I only continue to talk religion ,because I feel it has a destructive influence on people in general.
I personally was a very evil person. Thanks to Jehovah's witnesses for teaching me about Jehovah they have saved society from me and people like me.
Saying religion is a destructive influence is little more than a false generalization.
That's like saying water is evil because we can die from inhaling it. As water supports and sustains life so does re-connecting (Latin religio) to our source. Yet, drownding in the traditions of men is deadly. So, disernment is needed.
I only can relate my personal pain and strangeness from growing up in the controlling jehovahs witness cult.
While I was not raised entirely as a Jehovah's witness I have experienced the pain and strangeness peticular to corporate contolled worship. It's not a healthy thing and I am glad to be part of a brotherhood that is seeking the solution. I also thank you for your help.
I believe people should look inward, not outward,at how to go about changing things.
You have it right. Changing yourself is changing the world because we are all connected to each other.
I don't think you need some questionable book of fables to justify doing whats right or wrong.
Right and wrong or universal truths can be justified by evidence alone. I think the Bible itself just points us in the right direction.
I appreciate your opinion. best of luck in your endeavors. STP
I enjoy our discussion. Peace an love,
Mars

Are you refering to the textus receptus itself or the new method of printing of the greek manuscript in 1516?
Steve,
The textus receptus itself was completed in 1516.

pole,I don't remember anyone talking about how old you are.No one cares how old you are.
I was just trying to figure out why I was being called so uninformed. I guessed it had to do with the age fallacy but it was just a guess.
You seem the need to feel self important or that you can change the world, jehovahs witness and ex jws.
Do you get this impression from the Co-op home page where it says; "At the JW co-op, your spiritual wisdom, knowledge, and creativity is empowered to help change the world."
I truly believe this. By inspiring each other with creativitly, love, kindness and beauty ... we change the world. That has little to do with self identification.
Dave made a great post on how they have changed thier marketing scheme, wich they have. You try to twist it around.Would jesus ever get in a battle of wits
eerm did Jesus kick the money changers out of the temple?
with someone he couldn't speak to face to face?
I have written letters to all the governing body and have spoken to three of them face to face and have eaten dinner with one for an hour. They read most if not all my comments especially when they get sticky. They have already printed rebuttal artical in responce to some essays I helped to develope.
All you religous zealots are just a bunch of insecure, unimportant people who think thier special because they recite jesus.

Surrender? To you, or to the power of myth?
Surrender to the source.
Constine became emperor of Rome in 312 A.D. A little later he embraced the Christian faith for himself and for his empire. As this so called first Christian emperor took the reins of the civil and spiritual world to bring about the amalgamation of paganism and Christianity, he found three types of manuscripts, or Bibles, vying for supremacy: the Textus Receptus or Constantinopolitan, the Palestinian or Eusebio-Origen, and the Egyptian of Hesychius. The adherents of each claimed superiority for their manuscript. Particularly was there earnest contention between the advocates of the Textus Receptus and those of the Eusebio-Origen text. The defenders of the Textus Receptus were of the humbler class who earnestly sought to follow the early church. The Eusebio-Origen text was the product of the intermingling of the pure word of God and Greek philosophy in the mind of Origen. It might be called the adaptation of the Word of God to Gnosticism.
As the Emperor Constantine embraced Christianity, it became necessary for him to choose which of these Bibles he would sanction. Quite naturally he preferred the one edited by Eusebius and written by Origen, the outstanding intellectual figure that had combined Christianity with Gnosticism in his philosophy, even as Constantine himself was the political genius that was seeking to unite Christianity with pagan Rome.
Constantine regarded himself as the director and guardian of this anomalous world church, and as such he was responsible for selecting the Bible for the great Christian centers. His predilection was for the type of Bible whose readings would give him a basis for his imperialistic ideas of the great state church, with ritualistic ostentation and unlimited central power. The philosophy of Origen was well suited to serve Constantine?s religio-political theocracy.
Desiderius Erasmus produced the Textus Receptus in 1516 C.E.
I wonder where you are getting all this quasi-history?
Again, PICK UP A REAL LIVE NON WATCHTOWER PUBLISHED HISTORY BOOK and try to learn something that will make you resemble something besides watchtower clone.
Those that don't believe the Textus Receptus was around during the fourth century must be watchtower clones. Humm this says alot.
***The question was "Where did man come from?" not what is man made of.*** Sorry for the misunderstanding. Men are from Mars and women are from Venus....or was it Las Vegas? I forget.
An amazing question that cannot be answered with the nihilism paradigm.
***O, have you found someone that has said this?; ?Love your enemies? ?Do good to those hating you? ?Bless those cursing you? ?Pray for those who are insulting you? -Jesus Christ *** Yes I have, but you are going to have to do your own homework and find it for yourself.
"Hatred do not ever cease in this world by hating, but by love; this is an eternal truth... Overcome anger by love, Overcome evil by good. overcome the miser by giving, overcome the liar by truth."-Buddha
Wise words thanks for pointing this out.

I am limited by nothing.
Ego can only go so far. If you surrender you would not be limited by no-thing but you would realize you are unlimited as no-thing.
You ascribe to the Christian take on it all because a blood thirsty Roman Emperor said the Christian religion was the official religion of the then time leader of the western world and then handed it down to us like an all consuming plague. He himself "Constantine" was a believer in the universal sun god before, during, and after he proclaimed the Christian faith the official faith of the Roman Empire. He did not say it was the "true faith" or "right faith" but only the "official faith so he could get the Christians in the eastern territories to help him conquer their own Caesar Maxentius at the Battle at the Milvian Bridge to make Constantine the overall emperor of both the eastern and western territories." Broaden your horizons and read some history books. Constantine only proclaimed to be a Christian and convert when he was on his death bed because he liked the lessor penalties it believed in for people like himself who were such a son of a bitch, conniving, power hungry murderer.
I do not ascribe to the 'Christain' take on it all that Constantine instituted. The invisible sun god is worshiped every december 25. Yes christmas. I have no part of Constantines adulteration.
Constantine is also the one who got with his power hungry religious advisors to decide which books of myth would make up what Christians now call the New Testament.
Constantine died 337 C.E. while the council of Carthage was in 397 C.E..
I think judging by the Christian, Jewish, and Muslim take on it, I think it was dirt. But other religions, depending on the popular theory in their neighborhood, think man came from somewhere or something else. I like to look at a subject and break it down according to it's make up. Saying that and realizing the human body is made up mostly of water, my guess would be water over dirt. But that's just stupid science. When the hell has science ever been right about anything?
The question was "Where did man come from?" not what is man made of.
*** What is the purpose of life?***
Ask any of the 40 million species of animals on the same planet what they think their purpose of life is.
Do animals talk to you? :)
No real reason, no real purpose, just here.
If there is no purpose to life why live?
No kidding. If you did a little research you would find out many things Christ supposedly said was said by other god heroes hundreds of years before he supposedly said it. But since you have a "limited" knowledge of anything outside the JW or christian shoe box sized volume of religious propaganda, I don't expect you to know that.
O, have you found someone that has said this?;
?Love your enemies?
?Do good to those hating you?
?Bless those cursing you?
?Pray for those who are insulting you?
-Jesus Christ
Take care, and I hope I have not offended you.
Dave you may assume due to my age that I have no knowledge of other religions or history. It's understandable most people my age don't. Maybe it's hard for you to accept that someone can be a Christain much less a Jehovah's witness and still be informed.
Peace to you,
Mars

Dave,
You really don't want me to scrutinize your co-op. I do not believe in Jehovah,
Sure I do. Genius comes from many backgrounds. While your self identification limits you in certain ways the image of the divine still breaths through you whether you like it or not.
or any other amalgamation of ancient god figures. Religious myth is nothing more to me then passed down stories contrived and embellished around the camp fires of ancient traveling used car salesmen. Take some time to type in the "the similarities between Krishna, Buddha, Jesus, Osiris-Dyonisis,"
Where did man come from? What is the purpose of life?
in an internet browser and prepare to experience some real enlightenment. Holy book super heroes are nothing more then cut and paste stories told and exchanged by traveling merchants and then brought back to their homes and skewed to fit their own home grown god heroes. Reading about the astonishing similarities will open your eyes and make you say "holy shit" at least a hundred times. An open logical mind is all you need.
Here is what my hero says;
?Love your enemies? ?Do good to those hating you?
?Bless those cursing you?
?Pray for those who are insulting you?
-Jesus Christ
Are these not the most beautiful teachings to ever be spoken? What if we actually followed them?
I wish you luck with your co-op and hope you can step out of the confines of the Christian take on everything and discover the real truth about the history of religion.
Thanks Dave. I would add that everything people call "christain" is not christain at all. Trinity, hell fire, pergetory, christmas, Easter, holidays, cross, etc... I see how it is so easy for intelligent people to say what's the difference. Infact that is what I say.
It's more entertaining then a modern day sci-fi trilogy.
More of a tragicomedy in my eyes.
