straight away told im not ready for baptism, not with the amount and depth of questions, that ive been warned about these sites and that apostates will do anything to knock jws.

proving its the true religion bec the bible says it will happen (shows me scriptures).

also told it doesnt happen with any other religious group - usually people just quietly leave and make no fuss - further proof that ths is the true religion.. i asked about all the dates where predictions were made, eg 1914, 1975. was told there were some articles loosly talking the 'possibility' of something happening, but the wt never said it definitely would - how could it, these are just ordinary men, not profits.

Chin up girl, don't cry, this JW gave you something that some others would not. She saw that you questioned her belief system, and her answers did nothing for you. The reply 'it's obvious your heart isnt in the right condition at this present time' is not for you but for her, to protect herself. If she meditates on your questions, then that creates the possibility of doubt in EVERYTHING she believes. Remember that for JW's it is All or Nothing. Check out the first two questions for baptism.

So, she's let you go to think on your questions, and, to do more research on your questions.

If you were a committed JW, then you would be accused of apostasy (JW term for heresy) for doing your own research and coming up with something different from the 'society'.

So, my advise is take her advise! and do more research on your questions. If you are searching to answers, don't stop, keep searching. Use ALL resources available to you. I'm new to this forum and am going to stay because there are some great people here who are not only loving and kind, but also do their research.

Stick around and ask questions.

And if these words aren?t helping I advise starting with a huge bar of chocolate. God's true gift to people.

i was wondering if anyone had any ideas on what the spin will be once there are no 'real' anointed on the gb.

and then i thought of this topic for conversation.. when 2010 comes along, and it will, what do you think will be anounced as 'new light'?.

see if you can also back up your with scripture, history, even the great pyramid if you like.. i'm currently working on one that i'll post soon.. steve..

Jehover's Witnesses get a taste of karma....

jws and the wts have policies in place for the sole purpose of discriminateing against and harass people who do not believe the same things they believe.

they hunt down anyone who exercises their freedoms or speech and religion so that they can destroy the person's family... now they are getting a small taste of what they do to other people... how do they respond?

they cry "foul".. .

Interesting thought, I'd never looked at the whole karma thing in reference to what I have done as a JW. You know - shunning, very persuasive regarding the blood issue, etc... I see it as 'not my fault, it was the only thing I knew to be true, and now I may see things differently, I can't be held accountable for my previous actions'

However, (and please let me know if I'm not getting your thought process), this is like claiming ignorance of the law as a defense . We still have our karma to deal with.

Does he still profess to be a Witness?
Is he generally recognized as such in the congregation and/or the community?
Does the person have a measure of contact or association with the congregation so that a leavening, or corrupting, influence exists?
How did the matter become known to the elders?
I guess that these two rules don't apply to sisters !

Hello all,

I?m new here, and have been reading this thread with interest.

This subject was one of the subjects that I stumbled on and left in JW organization over. I had to give a talk ?you know one ? explaining bible prophecy from 607 to 1914, as proof of the last days and justification of the FDS. So, I decided that I would collate all the WTS information and correlate it with known and excepted historical data. Knowing that the Organization is True, I?d love showing absolute truth in prophecy (the Daniel prophesies were always a favorite of mine. You know, seeing it in writing, there in your hands, filled you with Holy Spirit.

My research was by no means frivolous, and included discussions with the British Library, British Museum, and the British Astronomical Association.

With my research I could not correlate the WTS teaching with any hard evidence outside.

The time for delivering my talk was rapidly diminishing, so, I approached an Elder within the congregation who was known not only for his frankness but also his love for the organization and his methodical research when preparing for talks.

I showed him my findings, both of WTS and outside information and asked why they didn?t match, I knew I must have missed something, and how should I approach this in my talk.

He told me that he had been through a similar dilemma years before. He showed me that the important thing to remember is that 1914 is absolutely that date of Jesus? return as clearly seen through the signs of the last days and WWI. Therefore if we retrace the total days for years we will end up at 607 BCE. There is a difference of around twenty years between what is currently available to us and to what the bible says. The bible?s word is always greater than any secular thought, so, 607 is the date to use, and I should feel confidant to use such a date.

I gave my talk with the WTS thinking of dates and prophesies, however, I felt pretty bad in the stomach while delivering it. It still didn?t feel right, and, I still feel bad about not delivering a talk to my fellow brothers explaining the difference and that we should rely on Jehovah to give us the appropriate reason of the lost twenty years in the future.

Well, that?s my story on this subject.

I see that the person by the name of scholar has the answer to the lost twenty years shown through secular and historical proof. If so then this is not a challenge to show it but an honest request from someone who would like to clear their conscience over delivering incomplete truths to their brothers.
