I Wish I Could Apologize To Old Friends

when i became a witness in ventura, california in 1973. i was 15 years old and in the tenth grade.

i was the only one in my family that was active though my mother, step father and my brothers thought the watchtower was the truth.

my step father had been raised a witness while my family was not affiliated with any particular church.

I totaly understand your position. There are so many people I would like to talk to and either say sorry or "O.K. lets have that same discussion. and I'll tell you where your pobably right".

I left after my questions couldn't be answered and I had to deliver talks, feeling like a hypocrit(sp + 2 glasses of wine).

I am very fortunate to have a group of school friends who allowed for my theocrastic expressions at the hight of my apostalizing and helped me through my departure.

People are very understanding, they would have known, much more than you at the time, why you were saying what you were saying. I'm pretty confident that if you did get the chance to meet these people again, and start to explain you actions, they'd laugh and say "yeh, I know" before you could finish.

Thats been my experience.

my name is jaron, 19 years old, i'm from the netherlands, and in about a month i am going to start joining the jw's meetings and i'm kind of looking forward to become a jw.

i can of course tell ya'll my entire spiritual story, but that would take an entire bookwork.

and Im studying Philosophy at the moment, and I just completed my class Argumentation and we learned about Ad Hominems and other stuff there so I thought it would be fun to put it to practise.

why is it that a number of people who commit the most henious of crimes, suddenly become "born again christians"--usually while sitting on death row?

do they think this somehow absolves them of what they did?

i remember when karla fay tucker was interviewed shortly before her execution (in texas) a few years ago.

having read both of ray franz' books and more recently 'the gentile times reconsidered' by c. o jonsson you'd be forgiven for believing that losing the 607 b.c.e date for the destruction of jerusalem would end in disaster for the society.

sorry but i just don't think so.. i'm sure many of the long-time witnesses who know the history of the society would truly have problems but most of the dubs just don't care!

think about it, remember all those dubs you used to hang out with.

i'm talking about the bible god jehovah need to be worshipped,,and his utter hatred towards other gods the people worshipped.

i mean after all he has his people put to death if the worship any one else.
