Would You Wear Religious Jewelry Comfortably Now???
by minimus inwould you honestly be comfortable to wear a cross, a crucifix or a religious medal of some sort?.
i'm curious as to how many would feel "weird" about it now..

I have never been attracted to crosses or many religous jewerly peices but a few years ago I found a beautiful silver celtic goddess necklace that i was just drawn to. I wear it almost everyday. I think part of me feels free from my past by wearing it. Its very simple and has become my everyday piece that I wear. No bad feelings here and when my JW grandma eyed it suspiciously I told her it was Celtic woman.......she said "oh, thats nice". HAHAHAHA

Oh man i just had a memory pop into my head. In my hall if someone canceled at the last mintues the speaker would ask for an impromto speaker. There were a few times when i would offer myself......sitting in the bathroom with another sister coming up with something was always more interesting then sitting in the hall being bored..plus then my mom would be soooo proud....

Santa Clause, Easter Bunny and Tooth Fairy...
by changeling ini recall witnesses saying how evil wordly parents were by "lying" to their children about these characters.
how witness children were fortunate that their parents always told them the truth.. so, i wonder, have you ever met an adult who was messed up because of having found out that santa clause and friends were not real?
are therapist's couches everywhere filled with these poor souls?

Last xmas season, do any of you remember the commercial where the dad is making his son do lots of chores like mowing the lawn and washing the boat and the kid says "but dad" and his dad says "what does santa not like" and the kid replies "a whinner"... "thats right, now get back to work".... Anyway my husband and I thought that commercial was hellarious and to this day if my 3 going on 4 year old whines ...we ask "what does Santa not like" and he hangs his head and says quietly "a whinner"...LOL ...My husband loved having the fantasy played out when he was a kid so I go along. but my nine year old who was 5 before I got re-married ..I tell him that Santa is a fun make believe charactor and if he chooses to play along then he cam make believe hes real too....so he does.....its all in good fun
Lisa.... my husband also put a 2 dollar bill under my sons pillow when he lost his first tooth...now its moved up to coin dollors and half dollars!

My husband and oldest used to leave their dirty clothes in the bathroom or in the hallway. I finally invested in laundry hampers and they now actually put their clothes in there. I prefer to do my husband laundry because if he does it and puts his work clothes and in feels there is still room he will shove in whatever else he can find then i have ruined clothes. My 9 year old however....does his own...if he wants clean clothes...he washes them...if its during the school year I do remind him but he has actually been doing a great job so far. He also fold and puts them away everytime he washes....then he gets rewards.....Like the PSP that i just bought him fo rhelping with his brothers and being a great kid.....he trys

Question for diabetics---Need a recipe:
by whyizit inmy husband's friend at work is a diabetic and is leaving to go to a new job.
my husband promised i would make him a couple of fresh blackberry pies from our own fresh picked blackberries, but they have to be made without sugar!.
my typical way of pie baking is the lazy woman's way.

If you've ever tasted stevia, you know it's extremely sweet. In fact, this remarkable noncaloric herb, native to Paraguay, has been used as a sweetener and flavor enhancer for centuries. But this innocuous-looking plant has also been a focal point of intrigue in the United States in recent years because of actions by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
The subject of searches and seizures, trade complaints and embargoes on importation, stevia has been handled at times by the FDA as if it were an illegal drug.
Since the passage of the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act (DSHEA), stevia can be sold legally in the United States, but only as a "dietary supplement." Even so, it can be found in many forms in most health-food stores, and is also incorporated into drinks, teas and other items (all labeled as "dietary supplements"). It cannot, however, be called a "sweetener" or even referred to as "sweet." To do so would render the product "adulterated," according to the FDA, and make it again subject to seizure.
The purpose of our Web site is to provide as much information about stevia as possible, from the scientific studies regarding its safety to the petitions submitted by the Lipton Tea Company and the American Herbal Products Association. Stevia.net will be an ongoing project for us at Body Ecology, so check back often, as we will be augmenting and updating this information frequently.
This is actually very interesting..thank you very much for the heads up....got to look into it a bit more...i guess this means I can't grom it....or if i do...does that mean i have to just label it as a dietary supplement....HAHAHAHA...can you smoke it hahahahaha
