in indianola, mississippi a kingdom hall was hit by a tornado and suffered extensive damage.
see "severe weather sweeps state.
kingdom hall hit by tornado; some power outages reported.".
Maybe the Congregation's service hours weren't good enough to please Jehovah? Get out there and place that literature you lazy "brothers and sisters" got to keep up with the Jones's.
I remember when I came in to this organization all the buildings were always protected from these kinds of things. Only the buildings of Babylon the Great were targets. What's up with this? Oh wait a minute......that rule STILL holds true. These halls ARE part of Babylon the Great.

it was announced at the service meeting.
so it's definately a goer.
starting jan 2008. .
One Awake per month for the public now one Watchtower to go with the one Awake.
It's a way to cut back on the amount of Awakes they publish and cure the confusion of offering the same Awake with a different Watchtower. Too many publishers were confused and offering the same Awake on their return visits.....maybe?
i was at my jw's friends house a few days ago and she had a jar on her counter that had "trip to bethel" written on it.. there was some chump change inside.
i never asked.
is bethel kind of like mecca?.
I never ever had the desire to go "visit" Bethel. At Hall you would hear how "different" we are from lavish " Babylon the Great" with our modest KH's, yet whenever anyone came back from a "tour" they were awe struck by the vast empire holdings.
Listening to them reminded me of how I felt the first time I had sex, but I didn't end up with brain herpes.

Thanks Blondie for your hard work.
It's always interesting to see how the local elders spin an article like this to fit the politics of their dealings with the rank and file. Plenty of guilt to lay on the heads of the wounded laying at the side of the road. It's aways the elders with the bloddy clubs in their hands.

Blood and everyone but JW's will die, of course, but also:
Overlook or ignore any injustice you see being done to someone not in the congregational clique because, "Jehovah will take care of it in the end."
a thread on the last page made me remember something from my early childhood.
remember congregation picnics and other outings?
i remember when i was little, probably only 4 - 5 years old; there was a huge congregation picnic at a park with food, games, etc.
It became a picnic for the pedophiles at some congregations.

during his visit, what exactly does the circuit overseer discuss with the body of elders with regards to inactive publishers?.
are inactive publishers even on the agenda?
or is this of no concern to the co and pretty much left to the discretion of the local boe?.
Last week's drama 101.
On monday a friend called the CO about some drama that has been going on at the KH involving him. My name was mentioned because I became inactive and have not been called on by the elders. The CO promised the brother he would CALL ON ME. Monday evening the CO CALLED ME and said he would call on me AT MY HOME with one of the elders during his visit. No visit M-Sunday. I did not bother to go to any of the meetings the week of his visit.
On Sunday (after he leaves) I get a call from a sister who said the CO had an example of a brother who became inactive because he DID NOT HAVE THE LOVE OF JEHOVAH in his heart. This certain brother (me) could not show love for another brother (think adultry) and after 6 months quit going to the same book study (at hall). The inactive brother (yep, me) had no right to ask for a change in book studies because by asking he PROVED he did not have the love of Jehovah in his heart or he would have forgiven the adultrious (DF times 3)) brother.
So I guess CO's do call on inactive ones. Only sometimes they do it in front of the entire congregation even when you're not there.

here's one: you can't give blood but you can take a blood fraction (which someone else has to give).
Mention an "elder's" fault and you're being NEGATIVE and not giving them "double honor".
When they councel you on one of your faults they are being loving and concerned.
