He feels more hurt than anything else. Feels he has a relationship with God/Jehovah and must get baptizied, but doesn't want to do so in an "organization of law-lessness"

Nothing new here just a reminder to those who haven’t been to hall for awhile.
A workmate just had his study cut off. There were some things he was being taught that he agreed with (Trinity) some he didn’t (Faithful and discreet slave being a group of old men in NY). Here are a couple of interesting facts:
He would very politely discuss things he could not agree with (citing scriptures)…. to others in the congregation…..when this was found out his study conductor (an elder) was told to “run” to his side to listen to what was being said. One week later there was a needs talk about being “cautious” of “new ones”. He knew they were “marking” him and people avoided him after the talk.
The study conductor was asked if the f.d.s. ever admitted they were wrong.“Why yes, we use to celebrate Christmas and that was wrong. We use to allow smoking….and that was wrong also.”
The SC was asked about the UN connection (which I had mentioned to my friend).SC said, “Our organization would NEVER have anything to do with the UN because it is part of Satan’s system.” (I will give my friend a copy of the NGO listing the Watchtower Society as an NGO member tomorrow, which he will show to his former SC).
In the end his SC was told by the PO to end the study because, “It’s your job to teach him the correct things to believe…NOT to listen to what HE believes.” This was repeated to my friend when he went to the PO and asked him why the study had to end.
I personally know most of the elders in this congregation and, yes this is exactly how they handle these kinds of things. So, my friend wondered why he was treated so lovingly by everyone when he stared the study, and so coldly when all he did was ask questions.I told him the reason…he asked too many embarrassing questions.

P.S. His mom has been in the congregation for a long time but is irregular in meeting attendance.

Been Df'ed for 9 years and Elders showed up @ my door Sat. Morning
by jrjr4189 incomplete shock came over me this past saturday when an elder and young bap.
guy showed up at my door to see me.. i had attended some meetings for a few weeks back in early 2006 as an appeasment for my mother and had spoken with an elder because he asked what my intentions were.
i of course told them that i wanted to come back.

Same thought here as Seeker4 and OnTheWayOut,
When I was an MS the elder who had me "under his wing" would take me on calls to those who were DF'd. He told me the calls were just to follow up to see if they had any interest in "coming back". This elder never said a negative thing about those who were DF'd we called on..or put them under pressure about comimg back.

what was the strangest/worst counsel you recieved from elders ?
by flipper inhaving been in the organization for 30 years, after i got out i reflected on this.
as a teenager i was told to not let my hair grow over my ears because i might stumble other young ones in the congregation.
also, in order to carry the microphones i was told i couldn't wear white socks, had to wear black or dark blue socks.

"We can't tell you NOT to come to this congregation.......but could you go somewhere else?"
All because I wasn't afraid to voice my concerns about the elders being cold-hearted. Not to anyone within the congregation other then them.

ABOUT NAME CALLING.....................
by juni inin the congregation you attended/or attend, for new ones that come, did/do the members address them as "brother so and so" / "sister so and so" ??.
or do new ones have to wait for a period of time to prove their "worthiness" of being addressed in that way?.

Hey Juni,
I had to wait until I proved myself out in the door to door work. Think I had to do it for a solid month.....then I also got my first KM. My brother was an elder and NEVER called me Brother Bronzefist even though I was his actual brother....go figure.

Anyone hear of a CO named Darrell Marlowe?
by bronzefist inhaven't been to the local hall for a long time, but stopped in for a service talk for a kindly older "sister" who just passed away.. the new co is to arrive in august and his name is darrell marlowe.
just wondering about him and would appreciate any information.
i'm not planning to go to any of the meetings...just curious if he's conservative or ultra-conservative in his thinking.. brzfst.

Just curious why you would go if he's liberal when you wouldn't if he's conservative? It just seems you hold a CO visit as such a take it or leave it even so why not leave it? I've dealt with CO's that have been either liberal or conservative in their views on the dictates from NY. Those that are conservative hard linners are only looking to get their asses kissed by everyone and care little for the down trodden within the congregation. I've also dealt with CO's that are actually concerned with those who are kicked to the curb by the BOE. I for one don't believe that everyone who attends a kingdom hall is an idiot ( not saying that you do). If a CO comes in and offers some refreshment to the lowly ones I see that as a plus. brzfst

Hey juni you said,
Check him out? Like is he your "type"?
You never know.....if he allows me to voice my concerns about the cold-hearted BOE's. I'd like to knock them down a few rungs on the ladder.
