  Where do I start? From the very begining of life you are taught to sit still at the KH if that means a spanking well then you get one, regardless of your age. No outside entertainment, family, friends, no school activites or sports. No dating, unless you are ready to marry, All your time spent on studying the literature, field service and the KH meetings.

  So when do these kids have a chance to grow into their own skin? Adolescence is hard enough, with raging hormones, not knowing how to fit in or self esteem issues coupled with a very controlling cult is a recipe for disaster. The way to raise good kids to teach them with love, respect and understanding. Learning how to think for yourself, making choices, and dealing with consequences is all very important in your development. If you are raised all your life with decisions made for you, and taught never to question things or respect others veiws in life, you will surely stumble through a difficult life.

  when a witness starts thinking, there comes a time when decisions have to be made.

  I personally could never live a lie.

  But unfortunatly there are some that have had to make a sacrifice and stay a JW. Everyone has a diffirent situation and we should not bash others for having to make such a difficult choice. I believe that it's just a matter of time in many of these cases anyway. I am thankful to not be in a position like this, but I know others that have, and I try to sympathize with them.

  my parents went to the assembly this weekend.

  they were telling me about disciplining children... the speaker was saying how all babies are born selfish and demanding for their own needs and not anyone elses.

  the jist of the talk being about discipline, and training children ...ie taking them out for a good beating.. well, i don't know if any of you have ever 'just seen red!
