As a JW were you ever counseled about clothes you wore, or lack thereof ?
by flipper inthought this could get interesting discussing experiences.
i for one was trying to reach out for ministerial servant again in the early 90's , had been one before, and was assigned to carry the microphones one meeting.
had an elder call me in the back room and say , " brother flipper, i noticed looking down towards your shoes that you are wearing white socks today.

Besides, I want some women to answer my question--why did they dress in a provocative way at the meetings? In my opinion they are insecure. Can't catch a man with their personality!
I already answered it for you.
I am secure and I do like to feel sexy, it's human nature.
In case you didn't know men cannot stand overbearing controlling women, no amount of beauty or sexyness will ever make up for this, looks fade but your personality will not.
If you continue to blame others for the problems in your marriage, not only will ruin your relationship but you will be alone for the rest of your life.

Body Modification/older societies/similar to WBTS view of women
by restrangled ini have just read the book, "snow flower and the secret fan" along with watching part of the national geographic series "taboo".
sadly, most of the modification involves distortion of the female body which then inturn, affects the minds for generations.. most of the justification for the body modification was to keep women in line mentally.
generation after generation of mothers were taught that neck lengthening, breast flatening, foot binding, and female circumsizing kept the girls clean and free from attracting men and kept them "down" in their societies.. i am not suggesting the wbts society approved of these physical methods, but the mental ramifications were adhered to and the result is the same.. women are considered second class citizens in this patriarchal society.

I am puzzled when men use sayings like " don't be such a pussy" and "quit being such a girl" to taunt each other, then say that they don't view that as being a putdown toward women.
Everytime I hear that I cringe!
If someone kicked me in the crotch I would not be as bad off as a man would.
It's funny that "God" is a male and males cannot reproduce I thought "God" made everything perfect the first time?
Any time I hear men taking tough I chime in with labor stories.

Describe the Perfect Woman or Man....
by Dragonlady76 inok after the serena williams thread and a few others that focus on looks i want to know what your idea of perfection in the opposite or same sex is.. i like muscular men with a full head of hair, i love classic features like a strong nose and jaw.. i also find blond blue eyed men sexy (don't ask me why).
i don't like that are to thin, nice teeth and soft eyes.. ok now it's your turn.. .

Intelligence is also very sexy!
I would like to add that my husband loves it when I dress sexy, he gets a kick out of seeing other men look at me, because he knows at the end of the day I am the one by his side.

Calico,
You seem to be jealous and very insecure, after reading your last few posts I can see why,
It's no ones fault that your husband notices other women, it's human nature, it's unreasonable for you to expect him not to.
I have been married a few years and I have no problem when my husband looks at other women, sometimes I point them out I will say " Jay check out her figure, damn" and it's ok! I can say this because I am comfortable with myself and feel secure in my marriage, I aslo trust my husband. Before you go on blaming other women for dressing sexy and being attractive, stop and think about what's really bothering you. It's really petty for you to blame others for the problems in your life, with that attitude you will never attain inner peace.
You need to talk to your spouse and tell him how you feel and try to work things out, if he loves you he will understand and work on that.
I hope this helps you.

I have a question! Several posters on this thread admitted that they wore either tight, low cut or high slit skirts at the meetings. Then were upset when they were counselled---accused sisters of being jealous---and asked why brothers were noticing. Well, isn't that the point of wearing revealing clothes? To make others notice you? So why complain about the attention?
It did annoy me when sisters dressed this way--my husband was looking and isn't that what you all wanted? Sure didn't make me feel too good.
We dressed like that because it did something for us, women like to feel pretty, sexy desired, wer also enjoy being noticed, what women doesn't? What we (I speak for the other females on the forum) are complaining about is the societies rule on having women totally covered up. A high slit in a skirt does not mean that all will be visible, form fitting does not slutty, I would also like to point out to you that a short skirt by society standards is anything that shows yours knees anf calves. It's ok for men look, women crave attention, what we don't want are perverts staring at us so that they can go run and tell on us and complain how we are distracting them, men like your husband have the choice to look away.
