i just saw this on the morning tv news - and did not get to hear enough of it to make sense:.
but, they were saying something about a patron sneaking a taser into the sunday game and using it on another fan.. they also said that one of the guys (i assumed the victim) was "a devout jehovah's witness who does not believe in saluting the flag or standing for the national anthem".. anybody know what happened here?.

I actually find this kind of funny. I guess as a Cowboys fan I am being bias. He knew what he was getting into by seating in a section where he was going to be the only Cowboys fan.
I salute the flag and sing the national anthem at games, but giving hell to someone who doesn't just because you're a Marine is just stupid. So I don't feel bad for the taze he got. lol

the japanese dolphin slaughter commenced on the 7th of september and will continue through to march of next year.
thousands upon thousands of dolphins/whales will lose their lives.
those that do survive will be sent to places like seaworld where they will be forced to perform for us humans.. this video is very upsetting.... makes you realize how truly evil members of the human race are.... i wouldn't suggest watching if you are weak stomached.. just wanted to share as many people don't realize that this goes on.

i spent sometime with a fellow ex jw yesterday.
we had grown up in the same congregation and left within a few years ago.
she referred to it as "the truth.
I do when talking to a JW or Ex-JW, but when I say it I take a pause and do my finger quotes. It's funny how that's the only phrase that triggers an automatic air quotes.
It won't work. They'll just say, "See how Satan tries to pull you into the world with things like... Playing. There are better things to do with your time that would bring honor to Jehovah's name". Blah blah blah

i even had my own study with a classmate, which thankfully he lost interest because i was getting tired of it too.. but high school was a different story.
Those are some good stories. I thought I was the few that didn't preach at school.
There were quite a few JWs at my High School. The JW group would gather around a table in the morning and at lunch. I never tried to sit with them and ask them what congregation they were from. lol

I grew up being a Witness. I remember in Elementary and somewhat in Middle school I used to be really outspoken about being a Witness. I even had my own study with a classmate, which thankfully he lost interest because I was getting tired of it too.
But High School was a different story. Even though I was still a super dub I avoided any mention of me being a JW. Not a word!
Then half way through the semester we wrote a paper. It was some sort of autobiography. Well, I decided I would write about my witness side and how it was wonderful. The teacher was impressed on the paper that she decided to read it aloud. I was so embarrassed. I wanted to be invisible at that time.
I didn't even feel guilty about the fact that I tried to hide my cultish background....mmmmm.
