  Note-Taking at Meetings: What's the Point?

  the last time i was at a meeting, i was struck by how many jws -- mostly women and pre-teenage kids were assiduously taking notes.

  i mean, what is the point?

  do they really believe the guy on the platform is saying anything that can't be found -- and reiterated -- dozens if not hundreds of times in their printed material?

  Note-taking to me is beneficial because the same notes you take at kingdom hall you can use in field ministry. Say the talk is on trinity. I would definately take notes because i could you what the bro said in the ministry to those who are having trouble with that subject.

  Not part of the world

  what is actually meant by "not part of the world".

  jws claim they are no part of the world.

  in joining here, am i guilty of being a "part of this world"?

  We as witnesses are no part of the world and that is true. Although we have work, got to school etc, which are all apart of the world, we are no part of it meaning we don't associate with out schoolmates and workmates. We talk with them but when it comes to being friends with them that's a no no. The scriptures tells us to use the world but not to use to the full. In order for us to survive we have to use the world especially the money part. But we are not to become lovers of money thinking money can solve all our problems.
