some days ago two elders visited my sister because she has not been attending the meetings more than one year.
this time she prepared notes containing watchtower past teachings about the blood ban so as to ask them for those changes, and it seems that the elders were also prepared for her past questions.
for instance she showed them that "albumin" was considered "under scriptural ban" in 1956 (read the page 20 of awake, september 8).
"You shall not eat anything that dies of itself; you may give it to aliens residing in your towns for them to eat, or you may sell it to a foreigner. For you are a people holy to the Lord your God. "(Deut 14:21)
As AnnOMaly states: "The 'worldly' people can use the blood. That means JWs mustn't use the blood."
Additionally, it would imply that Jehovah's Witnesses should feel entirely free to donate blood for the use of non-Witnesses.
i heard that on sat the jws released a new book at the convention god's kingdom rules.
is it a verse by verse of ezekiel or daniel?
does it mention the "overlapping generation"?
disposable hero of hypocrisy writes: "What dya reckon would happen if one were to call out the society on the above points, using the society's own literature to prove it? If it's incontrovertible, what could they say? How could they deny it?"
I did write the Watch Tower Society regarding their re-writing of their history. They responded by acknowledging that there were errors in the earlier literature and then stated: "To go further by endeavoring to explain the meaning and intent of each published statement of which you inquire would, we believe, amount to egaging in 'debates about words.' (1 Timothy 1:4; 6:4,5; 2 Timothy 2:14) [...] Taking into consideration an article's context and evident intent can be helpful in not becoming distracted by minor details or wording that can result in debates that are 'unprofitable and futile.' (Titus 3:9)" Then they ordered me to get back to meetings and engage in preaching their gospel. (Needless to say, their response ensured my departure...)
i attended the regional convention (district convention) over the last weekend, and thought i would spend a few minutes putting down some thoughts, for your amusement.
i will bounce around a bit, as my notes and thoughts were a little craaaaazy.. we met at one of the smaller venues on the west coast, with attendance around 7,000.
(28 baptized.... <.04%) we were tied in to the international convention in arlington, tx.. my first thought, only about 2 hours in, was how much this sounded like a plain old sales meeting!
Loesch had another talk, the one on 100 years of History. Mentioned the talk entitled "Millions Now Living Will Never Die". He said specifically that the brothers back then did not really mean THAT... what they meant was that millions of our BROTHERS in the FUTURE would never die.
Oh, really? Why did Karl Klein state: "Regarding his misguided statements as to what we could expect in 1925, [Rutherford] once confessed to us at Bethel, 'I made an ass of myself.'" (The Watchtower, 01. October 1984, p.24)????

as i said elsewhere, it was a remarkable one.
the speaker was manfred vencebi (google him - he's a bethel bigwig) and some of his remarks are real gems.

Why should true Christianity require 'reestablishing'? The Watch Tower Society assured me for decades that the "true" Christian Congregation remained faithful and unsullied since its inception in 33 C.E.
We follow the pattern of 1st century Christianity - keeping the congregation clean by removing wrongdoers; being politically neutral; having no clergy; preaching the good news in the 1st century pattern.
Please. In addition to removing wrongdoers, you also remove those who reject the Watch Tower Society's "false stories" (1. Tim. 4:7); you committed to promoting the United Nations Organisation, claim "clergy-penitent privileges" when hauled into secular courts, and preach (by your own admission) a "good news" other than that preached by the Apostles.

in order to qualify for the belongings appointment in verse 47 or the domestics appointment in verse47 the society had to have been faithful and discreet about what russell and rutherford had provided in the way of spiritual food at the proper time down till 1919.. but as captives of a concept clearly shows, they had not been either faithful or discreet which is why raymond franz expressed it this way.... it would be an insult to christ jesus to say that he (appointed) the society (over his belongings or domestics) on the basis of what it had been teaching as of 1919.. and so even though captives of a concept focuses on the pre-2012 interpretation and the belongings appointment in verse 47, what it says also applies to the post-2012 interpretation and the domestics appointment in verse 45.. and therefore the conclusion of either interpretation remains the same.
Many Witnesses accept the "New Light" excuse for the Watch Tower Society's patently erroneous teachings of 1919.
But what excuse is there for the Society's blatant rewriting of their history?
I was bothered less by what they were teaching in 1919
than by what they have been claiming they were teaching in 1919.
(I.e. It bothers me when someone feels free to lie to me. Cf. 1 John 2:21.)

We live in interesting times.
This combined with the end of the DO's will give the CO's a great deal more power over the local Elders.
However, it will also enable a renegade ("conscious") CO the ability to do a great deal more damage to the Watch Tower Society.
