anewlife~ She welcomed me with open arms and a huge hug without one word of judgement or condemnation. We've been closer than ever ever since!! (I apologized to her immediately for my behavior and all she said was, "don't worry about it, I did it to others too before I was DF'd and I understand." ) What a TRUE friend. We're now more like sisters. She's ShaunaC on the forum and was the one who brought me to everyone here.....NOW THAT'S A REAL FRIEND

I agree! I think out of everything I would have the hardest time with shunning. If being the one shunned, I feel it would make me afraid of developing close ties in the future with anyone for fear of losing that. I guess it's like the feeling of walking on eggshells all the time. That applies to staying in the Org I suppose, if you and those friends eventually leave then you can laugh and cry about the experience and then do some serious catching up like in your case. :) I'm glad you two had this chance to restore a precious friendship!

Peaceloveharmony ~ i was just happy she reached out and was ready to hang out with me again. it was amazing, we were able pick up right where we'd left off, took about 2 weeks to get all caught up :) i love her to death and am so grateful to have her back in my life.

Who are animal lovers here??????

although he is loveable............... i love animals, i have two dogs, a black lab named snoopy and a pug, named pug.

sometimes we call him pig, or dig, or mama's little baby.

Bug Paradise, I used to work for a Vet, too! That is the main reason why I don't have more animals! I learned that with pet ownership comes resposibility and if I can't afford to take care of them properly I have no business having them.

You got that right! They are expensive .. lol I decided to stop here with the 4 cats just in case I decide to work somewhere else in the future. I only have one left to get spayed and then I will be done with that part. Yeah! We hear some funny excuses for example a lady had made an apointment for her dogs annual and then she showed up the day after and said she couldn't make it because her dog was raptured. lol

Just a question to anyone ...

Not sure quite how to word it but after being shunned does the friendship ever return to the way it was before if you were to return? Has anyone had freinds who were shunning them and then those friends also left or were d'f' and the friendship resumed with no hard feelings?

Just curious as I have never been a JW and never had to experience shunning or having to shun in a religious aspect. It's one of those things I have trouble understanding and possibly the closest I could relate would be when you are divorced and your married friends choose sides in association and social functions/invites etc.

why do people think jesus died on a cross?

i have always wonderd why so many people think jesus died on a cross.

ive been brought up to beleive that he died on a stake.

where did it come from about the cross?

Also in Exodus 12 we see the instructions repeated twice on how the blood was to be applied to the door. The Top post the left side post and the right sidepost. This also forms the shape of the cross and each side where the hands were nailed and the top where the crown of thorns caused the blood to flow. They applied the blood to the door and then went inside their house and waited for the death angel to pass over them.

Freefallin~>Yes the great thing about Shelties compared to many other breeds is their diverse background. I believe because there are so many breeds behind them that that they have less problems with genetic disease than many other purebreds. And I've heard horror stories about the flea problem in Florida.

Yes the fleas get worse in areas where the winter is so mild and if the temperature doesn't drop often enough to kill them they just continue to multipy. Eating a flea is what causes tapeworms in pets too. The topical flea treatments are great (Advantage and Frontline, with the latter being the more waterproof one) but those topical ones in the stores like Harts are not worth even buying. Also the Harts drops can be dangerous and we have seen many cats and some dogs come in with seizures due to using that product. Harts has issued NO warnings for that either and that makes me mad! So any of you reading please don't use those Harts flea drops on your animals and especially your cats. It's not worth it and it takes sometimes 2 days to stabilize them. They are not even much cheaper then you can get the tested flea and tick control from your Vet or online ordering. Many skin alergies are from fleas and even one bite can send a dog into fits and hair loss. Advantage paralyzes the mouth of the flea so they cannot bite as well as killing them.
