Little Toe,
Here is the direct link to the Commentaries but Im not sure if they are set up to download.
i just can't see the answer to this question.
it may be obvious, so please forgive me if you think i'm silly for asking.. 2 corinthians 4 verse 4 in the nwt:.
"among whom the god of this system of things has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, that the illumination of the glorious good news about the christ, who is the image of god, might not shine through".

Little Toe: Btw, where did you get your electronic Calvin Commentaries? I've only got his "Institutes".
That Institutes is a BIG book .. lol I have read some of it and it's a good reference on the deity of Christ as well as other subjects. I think you can find some of Calvin's Commentaries on this site. They are free to download.

Sirona: Onacruse: thanks for the quotations. Yes, it is interesting that the debate was regarding the deity of Jesus. It seems that some (even if minority) consider that the verse should say "God hath blinded.." This reminds me of verses in which God is said to have kept a sacred secret about the Christ
Interesting train of thought concerning this verse. I can think of a few verses that would lend support to your thoughts.
John 12:40 He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.
John 6:44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.
1 Cor 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
Romans 11:7,8 What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded (According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear;) unto this day.
Later today I will look and see what Wallace and Wuest have to say on this verse if I have the right volumes that include this passage. Thanks for the interesting topic!

comforter will not attempt to judge bowen.
god will judge him in the last day.
but i guess comforter wonders why bowen cares whether he has been df or not.
in view of the fact that bill bowen and others who have supported the silentlambs agenda have been disfellowshipped, do you think this means the end of their effectiveness?
comments on the board suggest that now, jw's won't come forward to bill because witnesses won't want to talk to a disfellowshipped person.
and some have said that this was the reason why they were fighting their disfellowshipping.
Minimus: I think that those that have been abused will not care whether someone is a JW or not. If they know that these brothers and sisters really care about them, nothing or nobody will stop them from getting support. What do you think?
I agree with you. Knowing help is out there is the most important thing and that has been accomplished. At some point in time the victim will most likely find the urge to seek help more urgent then dealing with the horrors of thinking they are alone in their pain and resigned to just existing but not really LIVING.

Zenpunk: Is that true BugParadise? They really got married? Well it's a step up from Michael Jackson, thats for sure. But I didn't even know they were dating.
Shocked me too! I found this in the Memphis Commercial Appeal while hunting for menus for Hillary I thought it would make a nice addition to the topic here. <g> Until today I had no clue they were even an item.

I refuse to answer your question until you putt down that phallic symbol.

I like to eat but since I was in a hurry I thought I share some current events
Wedding bells in Blue Hawaii: Lisa Marie and Nicolas Cage say 'I do'
August 12, 2002
HONOLULU (AP) - Elvis Presley's Hawaiian Wedding Song might have been an appropriate tune for his daughter this past weekend.
A published report says Lisa Marie Presley was married Saturday to actor Nicolas Cage in a ceremony at the Mauna Lani Bay Hotel and Bungalows on the Big Island.
Hotel staff members told The Honolulu Advertiser the ceremony took place on the lawn in front of the Eva Parker Woods Cottage, a historic building that has been restored and turned into a museum.
The ceremony was attended by Lisa Marie's mother, Priscilla Presley, and Cage's son from a previous marriage, staff members said.
Lisa Marie, 34, the only child of Elvis and Priscilla Presley, previously was married to Michael Jackson.
Cage, 38, won an academy award for 1995's Leaving Las Vegas, and also starred in this year's Windtalkers, parts of which were filmed in Hawaii. His other movies include Honeymoon in Vegas, which includes skydiving Elvises, and Raising Arizona.
Lisa Marie and Priscilla are scheduled to appear Friday in Memphis, where they will greet fans from The Pyramid stage at Elvis: The 25th Anniversary Concert.

this is totally understandable because a lot of us suffered or still are suffering from their association with the watchtower society.
some of us are victims of child abuse.
