  Shocking Announcement: Society feels Armaggedon coming this year?

  a rumor alert indeed, but it could be related to the distribution of kingdom news no.37, "false religions end is near.".

  the following is posted from e-watchman's forum.. make of it what you will, but in light of all the rhetoric about "deliverance at hand" and "independent thinking", nothing would surprise me anymore.. http://e-jehovahs-witnesses.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=1502&st=0 we posted about an announcement it was only local to our cong.

  however we have found out that there is going to be an announcement sometime in september and it is supposed to be shocking.

  Well, I don't think this has been discussed so far so I'll take a guess at what the news might be. I think the time is coming when all who say they are JWs will be required to report service time. If you don't, you will be disfellowshipped, because you will not be considered as a "witness". I don't have any special insight, but I do know that for a few years now there has been an intense effort to re-activate those who have been in-active. Even a special brochure was released for this purpose. The fence sitting crowd is causing great problems for the Society. In fact it seems like a good number of posters on this board are of that crowd,including myself. It would be fitting for such an anouncement to be made in September since that is the start of the service year. The tract campaign might be a kickoff event to get people re-activated. And the mandate to report the number of tracts placed, might be used as a meter to measure the level of dedication of each reporter. The low number reporters could be targeted for "special help". I would expect them to give a time period like 6 months before the disfellowshiping for the offense of "not witnessing" would begin. During that time, elders might be increasing "sheparding" visits to those who don't report time. I think this arangement might have been alluded to in the last KM school the elders had from reports I've heard. Well,there you have it. My speculation for what it's worth. seek2find

  Scripture cross reference agendas

  has anyone noticed that scriptures cross referenced in the nwt are different that scriptures cross referenced in niv or other versions??.

  one example; romans 10:9,10. nwt 1cor 9:16, acts 16:31, acts3:15, rom4:24, 1 peter1:21, mt10:32, 1ch28:9, 2th3:15, 2cor4:13, heb13:15. niv mt10:32, john13;13, john3:15, acts2:24, rom11:14. witness agenda = field service.

  I recomend e-sword also. There is also an import tool avaiable for it from another site that will import other translations from Bible gateway. Works good. seek2find

  A Friend Needs Advice and Help--NOW!!!!

  a good friend of mine is a former jw.

  she is married to an active jw and her children are still jws.

  her husband has demanded that they discuss why she is no longer willing to go to meetings, etc... she is wondering what subject would be the best to approach him with first.

  Your freind is in a position similiar to my own. I hope for her sake she's not in as deep as me. If she still considers herself a Christian, I think using John 14:6 would be the best route. Have her ask him if he sees any Orginazation in that scripture. Ask him if he could in good conscience re-translate it to say "I (and the Watchtower Society) am the way the truth and the life"? Just a thought. seek2find

  I also recently downloaded E-Sword. I like the Contemporary English Version. I usualy use at least 2 different translations in my daily reading Usualy the NWT, the CEV and the NIV or the NASB, there are things I like about them all. I like the way the the CEV is read in the audio section of the Bible Gateway web site, which I use daily also. Of the versions I listed, Only the CEV are available in E-Sword, but it is still a very usefull program and I would highly recomend it to others. It can be found at www.e-sword.net Its absoultly free (donations are accepted, but not required, it is freeware)This just goes to show that not all religious people outside JWs are in it for the money, as is sometimes implied. seek2find

  and all people will know that you are my disciples, if you:.

  attend 5 kingdom hall meetings each week.. report at least 10 hours a month in field service.. confess sins to your local elders.. report any other person's sins to your local elders.. believe everything the "faithful discreet slave" publishes in the pages of the watchtower.. wear a coat and tie (male) or modest skirt/dress (female) to all kingdom hall meetings.. do not 'partake' of the wine and bread at the memorial.. .

  Active Witnesses...... lets get a head count....

  just wondering out there, who is still active?

  makes most of the meetings, all the conventions, comments, is still active socially with the congregation,out in service, hall building etc.

  just wondering, because we know who are the elders, or recently former elders and i usually seek their posts for some interesting comments... .
